Hi Brad, I left you a message on your last video, but you didn't get back to me. This house has been listed for two weeks now. I had a video tour. Two things I didn't like about this house are the carpeted basement living room and the backyard, and it also has a cracked window.

Good day, Brad. I have been watching your videos for a while now. I have been trying to purchase a house in Airdrie for the last two months now, but it's been so hard to find my dream house. I have a realtor working hard to get me what I want, but he hasn't been able to.

Is it true that Alberta towns aren't able to keep up with the influx and can't develop the infrastructure?? Road congestion, lack of medical services, electrical grid, water service, erc ??
@brad.walker.airdrie.realtor
@brad.walker.airdrie.realtor 20 күн бұрын
It’s fairly true to most places in Alberta right now yes. Lots of population growth in a short amount of time means that it will take some time for infrastructure to catch up. Definitely more road construction and less doctors per capita than we’re used to. Only 1 scare with the electrical but nothing came of it, and the current water situation is due to a main water feed break in Calgary. Once that’s fixed we should be okay again

Hi Brad, we appreciate your updates. A few months back you covered the condo market and hi-lited the new condo developement going up in Coopers by Vesta. There are still several units there for pre-construction sale. Any general comments about this higher end condo development now that building is underway? Are they maybe a bit over priced? Thanks much.

Yeah the monarch condos are in their own category that’s for sure! We do have the Chateux building in the SE that also sells in the $400’s, (though that one is age 40+) so there is a market for the luxury style condos here in Airdrie. But they definitely won’t appeal to the masses! I’m curious to see how they sell, and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product.

The builders have been building a lot of the freehold townhomes lately, and if that’s the case here then there’s a very good chance they’ll be over $500,000 unfortunately. If they are condo’d then they’d be less.

I feel the downside of the winter is a matter of opinion... sort of. I'd say anything under minus 25 celcius is unambiguously awful even for a native Albertan. But, we dont have that for months, just weeks. For the rest of winter, it can be fun to have a real winter but without getting pelted with tons of snow like out east. For most of our winter it is sunny and enjoyable

Stay out of Alberta. It's not ready for this. If you had your fun and joy in a place that is now too pricey. It's on you to deal. Not us. Trying to have it all will be bad for the balance. Humans are so selfish now. Good luck everyone.

I’m really concerned about the new library. I watched the video Airdrie posted online. It’s beautiful, but it looks very impractical, and like a huge waste of money.. There’s wide open wasted spaces at the entrances, and an extremely wide, steep cement staircase. The empty spaces may look good, but it’s a lot of unused space that the taxpayer is paying for, and it’s expensive to heat. That space could be far better used. It looks like there is a very wide, steep, cement staircase to the second floor, where the adult space is. Why waste space on a very wide cement staircase? Many seniors use the library, and they have mobility problems, so very wide cement stairs to the second floor, seem dangerous. The cement stairway also looks to be very dangerous for children. I hope I’m wrong about the stairs being dangerous. Cement doesn’t hold heat, so it’s very expensive to heat, as are the open spaces spanning 2 stories. Does the new library have solar panels? The video didn’t mention them. It seems all new government buildings should be energy efficient, to reduce greenhouse gases, and be cheaper for the taxpayer to heat,
