Awesome. it be cool to go in to more of the grips, hand and arm positions and pressures/pull and pushes that are needed, essentially more top body details. It looks like the uchi mata sequence is a slick way to complete the arm drag/elbow throw to back take. Basically that elbow throw IS THE MOVE to even make it to the back. The uchi mata is a distraction/positioning maneuver and to fuel the momentum to throw that elbow/arm forward/side to take the back. Any difficulties with that part? With gi, could it benefit to use the lapel rather then collar tie?

Do you have more leverage/success straight arming the elbow or his inside lapel and pushing into his neck?

Great technique. Great example and coaching. Do not use on North-South guys, as it leaves you vulnerable up top in a number of ways. Learn from my mistakes.

Top guy will almost always be attached to your hip putting pressure on you and underhooking the far side....and simply moving with you. This is great if the guy stays put or slides off but never does. What am I missing?
@lilzod48623 ай бұрын
I might be wrong, but i think its the right arm elbow on the hip creating the space for you to get the opponent off balance/shrimping to your side.
@joshhardy56463 ай бұрын
The top person is also not going to just lay there and not move. They will come unglued from the hip because they can’t stay there and no get rolled. This defense will create space to recover your guard

Love it. I use this also. Saltier guys might have a wider base that might keep you from rolling... but there's the opportunity to sit out and transition to top turtle.
