i wonder how is it for really slow precise movements. Like slowly crawling on slippery rocks or pivoting front wheel on switchbacks.
@videoenduro2113 күн бұрын
Hey, there's some of that kind of riding in the video if you look but good just requires a different technique. It creeps at slow speed over slippery rocks once you get to grips with it. There's a bit int he video where Eddie explains where I'm going wrong (sit on the bike and just use the throttle I think he says). It was just a matter of getting the different throttle technique dialled. Cheers, Jon.

WOW John, you're a brave & ambitious fellow to go riding with those two guys. Didn't anyone tell you they are a couple of the best in the world on technical trail ? :) Your honest opinion having ridden the Varg on some genuinely diabolical trail ; is the 260Lb weight a substantial handicap when having to start / stop constantly .. or is it no more difficult than any ICE 250 - 300 2 stroke ?
@videoenduro2113 күн бұрын
Thanks for the message. Honestly, no. The weight distribution and balance of the Varg genuinely masks the extra kilos/lbs and it really doesn't feel different to ICE bikes. I've spent a lot of time on a YZ250 lately, plus have naturally spent a lot of time riding all kinds of bikes and it is easily comparable. The only time you notice the extra weight is when you are not on the bike and have to lift the back of the bike over out of a hole or bad root or ruts etc. Thanks, Jon.

Do we know, how does the enduro version differ from the mx version?

W've written what we know on Enduro21 if you want to take a look at the website. Thanks.

Id love to see what would happen if you ride that bike for a year and then went back and rode the same trails. Great video, really excited to hear about the enduro version and hope that it can be road registered in the UK.
@videoenduro2113 күн бұрын
That'd be great, yep. Stark, you listening to this?! 😅
@hardergamer23 сағат бұрын
Putting the stark on the road yourself is dead easy, and no different to any other off-road, self-build, or imported bike etc, like you would do with any MX bike: YZ, CR, KTM.MXC, or an import: SURON, ALTA, or Vector, by using the GOV V55/4 form and go through the needed steeps, Ie, Day time MOT, (no lights needed) and MSVA inspection. I along with others did ours Stark Varg's over the last year, and the total cost for road registration was about £205. and all the bike needs is a battery power horn, and lights if you want a full MOT, and a plate.

IS THERE a CLUTCH ! ??!!!?!
@johnfriedl712614 күн бұрын
No.
@-TheRealChris14 күн бұрын
Everyone wants a clutch until they actually ride one. You would never use it trust me (I ride trials and hard enduro so I very very much value the clutch on combustion bikes, but i can tell you it would be completely redundant on electric bikes). Definitely get the rear brake on the handlebar though IMO
@videoenduro2113 күн бұрын
Hi, have you seen this Varg before? It's been around a while now. No, there is no clutch but I think the video shows how it is not a bad thing, just different. Be good to get another bike to test and really show the different technique. It's on the 'to do' list. 👍

So fast forward to 2035,All combustion engines 2stroke and 4stroke have been banned. We haven’t been able to ride scramblers enduros for 5 years legally 🙈 Stark varg comes along and we can go out racing and ride it legally basically on any off road venue, what would you rather have? 🤔Never ride legally again and get in a lot of crap, or still enjoy the thrills of biking just a bit more quieter and economical more relaxed 🤷🏼♀️ I know I would prefer the option of riding any kind of dirt bike than Non! 🤔
@johnfriedl712614 күн бұрын
I don't buy that for trail riding around the woods. Even when riding bicycles (the real ones, human powered) we run into issues and hate. Trails get blocked, destroyed and people call the police. The real advantage is you are less likely to be located. At least in Germany riding a motor powered vehicle in the woods is never going to be legal (Pedelecs are bicycles, officially, but technically also only allowed on official dirt roads in some place). That said it's a better solution for having some fun near home, no doubt. Looking forward to it.

My 2019 Alta Ex has a great battery for 1 long ride. Am looking for a 2nd Stark Varg to go for that 2nd long ride in one day with my friends on ICE dirt bikes. Maybe this is the solution with 1/2 the torque and HP to the back wheel...I will check the Free Ride out when its in the dealership. Thanks for engineering a quick battery change and video!

Great test and great riding. Looks to me like the extreme could be a good alternative to the World Raid being 20kg lighter and a more Spritely power delivery because of the reduced weight

Thanks for the video, in trying conditions. Pretty bummed Sherco has not done any work on the 250/300 SE engines... I'll be staying with my 21 model for now as my engine is the same. One point for the vision, please, please turn on the stability function on the camera as you go around the bike. It's pretty hard to watch the shaking and dancing of the vision.

Agreed. The lack of change in the 2t engine is disappointing. The current engine is a good honest engine,, but it feels old now and it's heavy, with the heavy feeling old Adler spring clutch. Time for an update to match the 4t models. The rest of the frame and handling improvements are no doubt welcome but lost with the old donk.
