I am watching this, because someone named Carlos will hire this man to work for Harley-Davidson, well ever since Zietz is getting a bad rap and Harley riders who switched to Indian are voting for Trump this man will be take the ship of Harley-Davidson; even though Carlos Ghosn is a convicted felon in Japan for financial fraud seems to be bogus but yet people who believe in Trump believes the BS. That is the man who will stir the ship at Harley-Davidson in a pro-Trump presidency.

My first bike. I wanted the Black/Purple/Pink but they were all sold out. I really grew to love the Red and White though. I sure wish I could find one in that shape these days...

I had this 72', painted it black cause I kept getting razzed about having a pink bike. Got K&N filters and expansion chambers put on by Suzuki, they rejetted the carbs. Kept having battery problems, then it wouldn't run right after I rode it home from FLA to WA. Bike shop said the alternator shaft was busted and there was a hole in the top of the middle piston. That ended it.

Actually, this is a GS1000SZ but the US edition, which had CV carbs and was essentially a sleeved down version of the 1100. In that sense there wasn't much special about it, apart from that killer look by Target Design, which is as fresh today as it was back in 1982. However, the really rare 1000 which is the one to have - possibly only a few hundred in existence today - is the GSX1000SZ export edition. Now this super rare Kat had a hotter cam and Mikuni round-slide carbs plus some other factory tweaks as standard, virtually making it race-prepped from the crate. These bikes were destined for Europe, Australia and South Africa. A totally different kitty to the US market 1000 Katana.

Missed out on buying a 1983 Yamaha 50cc Midnight Special last month. This is way cooler! If they made them for 15 years, I must have been asleep during that time, never seen one.

I do regret selling mine. I bought a 1989 example brand new in 1991. It had been sitting in the dealer’s inventory for two years unsold. For perspective, I believe the original MSRP put it at about the same price as a 600 Hurricane. It was a lovely bike and a lot of fun on back roads. I have owned a number of other motorcycles but this is the one I remember the most. The styling was perfect and as a 5’6” guy the size was too.

Your bike has a 74 or newer cylinder casing.. THERE WAS NO LIQUID COOLING MONIKOR ON THE CYLINDER OF A 73... I bought a brand new one in March of 1973. It was red just like this one.. maybe the same bike.. My brother crashed it when it was 3 months old and cracked the cylinder. It got replaced with a 74 model cylinder with the water cooled monikor, just like this one... IS THIS MY BIKE? I sold it in 1976 in Hawaii and that guy crashed it shortly afterwards. I have no idea where it went from there.. . but I might be looking at it.

So many things gave me wood in the 70's. Girl's hip hugger bell bottom jeans, miniskirts, and two strokes.
@Paintppa1
@Paintppa1 10 ай бұрын
What killed it was the public perception that a 4 stroke was superior. I was a dealer in 73 and loved that bike. Their rotary bike was innovative but a gas guzzler and too unique for people who liked the Honda 750 because of it's conventionality. Early models would sometimes blow crank seals too.
