Hi Tim can you do another one of these videos but then explain port forwarding with a ip group? If you do the simple forwarding of ports you can limited by one ip to access the port. Hello brother, I have a doubt, what would happen if I lose or my yubikey is stolen, it is the only one with which I unlock my KeePassXC base. I was reading the documentation and it suggests me to make a copy of the HMAC secret that is stored in the YubiKey. Is it the same 20 bytes hex. key that you gave in the "generate" button? Could you help me or make a video. Great video by the way:)
@MrTimTech2022
@MrTimTech2022 13 күн бұрын
Hi, There's some comments here in this thread about copying to another Yubikey. It's best practice to have a 2nd Yubikey in case your 1st one gets lost/stolen/damaged. Yes you copy the HMAC Secret to the 2nd Yubikey which should then give you a duplicate. Follow that when it's generated and then copy and paste to the 2nd Yubikey, then of course test it to make sure it works ok and you're good to go.

@MrTimTech2022
@MrTimTech2022 13 күн бұрын
Thanks Andy, as the Yubikey uses 1 of the 2 HMAC sections on the Yubikey you can still use that along with MFA generation as MFA is stored in a different section of the Yubikey, have a look at this diagram and it will show you where things are stored within a Yubikey - developers.yubico.com/Developer_Program/Guides/yk5features.png There's 2 storage slots as you see, so you can use one of the unused slots to store the generated key for KeePass

@MrTimTech2022

It's wise not to tag traffic on the SFP ports as normally you would want the traffic between the UDM and USW using the SFP+ port to be untagged so that it allows 'ALL' traffic to pass between the router and switch as the UniFi Network Controller on the UDM would not be able to manage devices. Is there a specific reason why you want to do that ?

@MrTimTech2022 21 күн бұрын
I suspect you might have missed one of the steps from my video. If you enter the IP address in the internet browser address bar without ':8123' what happens ? If it loads your NAS page then the IP address is correct. If it does not load your NAS page then you might probably have the wrong IP address or maybe a firewall rule is blocking access, maybe you have it in another VLAN. Also check that the Docker Container for Home Assistant has a green dot against it's name to show it's loaded and running.

@@MrTimTech2022 You have seen that you have two bigger spaces betweent the holes and then a small space between holes? You suppose to align them correctly. i was looking how to connect the UDM to each switch, the problem is, i have 8Gbit internet speed and i need to use 1 SFP+ on the UDM as WAN connection, than i have only 1 SFP+ left to connect to the USW aggregation, behind that i have also a USW Pro 16 . is it better to go first from UDM to the Aggregation and than to the USW Pro 16, or first to the Pro 16 and than to the Aggregation ?
@MrTimTech2022
@MrTimTech2022 24 күн бұрын
Hey thanks for your comment. Wow that's certainly a good WAN connection speed. Understood re the UDM connections and that you have it connected to the Aggregation. To answer your question it's always best to connect both your UDM and USW both in to the Aggregation so that the Aggregation sort of acts as a junction box. Then your Aggregation can either route traffic to the UDM or USW depending on where it's going to. Hopefully this makes sense. So to conclude it's best not to daisy chain them in a row. Take care!

The audio is a little poor on this one buddy. Found it difficult to listen to.

@kentish_outdoor2335 - Yes it wasn't up to my usual quality, apologies for this. Hopefully I can improve it on my future vids. So yes I agree and appreciate your constructive comment 😇. I think it was my post editing and maybe interference being next to the cabinet from the wifi mics I used. Will certainly look in to this when on my next recording session!
