The irony of saying dont blame all Maori, yet globally white people are blamed for slavery in general when everyone did it. People like objects could be traded. Everyone alive today needs to appreciate the long life and opportunity we all have compared to our ancestors and stop claiming we are owed something because of what one dead group did to another dead group. We are a new group, new souls, not them.

So you are saying the Māori are settlers so then that means they are colonizer’s? For years the Māori denied the morioir existed, how does anyone know the Māori were on the main islands first and not the Moriori and that the Māori chased the Moriori away or killed who were on the main land?

"It would be like blaming a frenchman for the actions of 900 italians back in the 1800s" Yes, that would be delusional, why would anyone ever do such a thing... When will people realize that history is always messy, and that people, despite their capacity for love and joy, are always flawed. Instead we try to rationalize unsubstantiated fairytales about the past to justify the one side or the other, ora pro nobis.

Moriori are the indigenous people of Australia. Same race, described and also same descriptions as the Tasmanian aboriginals. Peaceful Dark race of people with reddish hair. The last of the moriori had been interbred with the modern day Maori. Hence why when put on the Chatham Islands they didn’t survive they thrived, with political and ceremonial connection to land. Art is also identical to aboriginal art in Australia.

There’s a difficult balance to maintain between not subtracting agency from indigenous people and also avoiding the use of past injustices to justify present oppression or injustices. It seems obvious to me that this injustice was twisted by British colonizers in order to justify its own oppression. Divide and conquer, as they say.

“SOVEREIGN MONEY” This is a mechanism that has been used before read “The Bradbury Pound” which was created in 1914. KZbin Richard Vobes “The Elephant In The Room” all the relevant information is there. Here is a simple explanation and can be implemented immediately. Sovereign money is created and controlled by the elected people Sovereign money is created by the state for the state Sovereign money is interest FREE money created by the State Use the wealth of the nation to create this money and give it value. Use the taxes the government will collect It can be both paper and electronic money A GST of 5% with no tax deductibles Infrastructure value Electricity grid Oil, natural gas, forestry and other assets. Sovereign money will help: Keeping national infrastructure in good order Keeping public services in good order Protecting key strategic industries from outside involvement Self reliance from private banking services

Thanks for the great video. I look forward to seeing more of your content and ideas. This government doesn't really represent much to me in the way of good policy. Moreso just a reflection that the current options to vote for are varying degrees of underwhelming. However, I'm equally aware that most of the non-parliamentary parties are simply too niche or conspiracy driven to ever get elected. Hence, that might explain partially why the polls have not changed much in a year. Because people broadly speaking are not going to be that enthusiastic at the next election if these are their options.

not exactly true. the two iwi who went to the chathams to attack moriori were ngati mutunga and ngati tama. they were displaced from their taranaki homelands by waikato maori, not by the british. the british did bring guns into the country, and that enabled waikato maori to attack taranaki iwi, so i guess you could say "because of the british", but it was not the british who displaced them.

The Māori arrived in New Zealand around the late 13th century, while the Moriori settled in the Chatham Islands approximately a century later, around the 14th century. Thus, the Māori established their presence in New Zealand before the Moriori arrived in their islands.
@Breezeyy2 ай бұрын
At the time of the invasion of the Chatham Islands in the 1830s, the British Crown had begun establishing its presence in New Zealand, but it was not yet fully established or in control of all regions. The British formally annexed New Zealand in 1840 with the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. Prior to this, the British had some level of influence and presence, but their authority was not comprehensive or fully enforced throughout New Zealand or its surrounding territories like the Chatham Islands. The Chatham Islands were not formally part of New Zealand at the time of the invasion. The British government and its representatives were aware of the situation, but their control and influence over such distant regions were limited. The invasion and subsequent treatment of the Moriori people were largely driven by local Māori iwi rather than direct British intervention or control.
