I started playing harmonica a few months ago. A buddy of mine acquired a new set of 7 Hohner harmonicas that he gifted me, and I just started playing them. I have a pretty good sense of pitch, and I immediately found a great deal of joy playing along with songs. I've been an amateur guitarist for years, but find I'm having a much more enjoyable time playing harmonica. To get to the point, I bought an Easttop 008k C harmonica on Amazon, and the sound is amazing. Really enjoying this harp!! I really want to get the full set of 12, I'm very into it. Really love your videos, thanks so much!

I wonder, is the "harmonica is the best-selling instrument" possibly misleading, since most players own a whole bunch of harps? People usually don't have 12 guitars (although I see you over there in the corner, Rick Beato).

The average good, professional Blues harmonica player these days is boring to listen to imo. They can't even be a rhythm instrument really as well. They're just someone there that sits back till they can ride on what you're putting down. I do love harmonica but only if it's played by old harmonica players who are all dead now

Special 20 is cooler side by side with Lee Oscar. People don't always have something to compare it to when in a song. I don't know why musicians always think that harmonica has to be bluesy. I personally like that Dlyan-esque/ Guthrie kind of sound. But again, just a preference.

great and thanks...probably subconcious but youre playing a lot of dotted notes, mostly 16th's, in certain groovy spots, over the written 8th notes and some other spots.... i understand it's a 1/16 difference but it's still incorrect..probably a habit of playing with good groove and color...

Nice! I remember when a Horner didn't charge 55 bucks. It's good to see a decent harp at an affordable price. Where's it made and how much? What are the .aterials?

I Have Several Seydel Diatonic Harmonicas , Now I am not any expert , but I got the Seydelb1847 Lightning Harmonica the most expensive Harmonica I have ever bought , but that one compared to all my other Harmonicas including all the Other Seydels I own , the 1847 Lighning requires less air over the other seydels I own , I have some cheaper Hohner Harmonicas I will say they are fair , I like the Seydel better I have a better time with them , My Best and Most expensive Hohner is the Newly designed Golden Melody key of (C) I got it at a Discount on Ebay almost 20 dollars less then retail and it was brand new and sealed I was lucky with that purchase .

A Special 20 delivers the most bang for your buck. It's a good, solid, quality harp for a really reasonable price, so probably one of the best to begin learning to play on, especially if you're not sure whether you're gonna stick with it or not. But, a few years ago, I bought a Hohner Rocket (also from the Progressive Series), and I was almost instantly hooked. The slightly larger holes make playing single notes easier, the key is clearly printed on the end of the comb, and the comb itself is extremely ergonomic, making it comfortable on both your lips and your hands. Now, mind you, they cost about 15-20 dollars more than the Special 20, but I think that is money well invested! I bought a full set of all 12 keys, though for the F harp I bought the Rocket Low, which has a lovely growl to it. They are my standard go-to choice for playing any style.

Best way to stick with it is to carry a harmonica with you wherever you go. You don't even have to play it every day, just knowing that it's there is enough. Think of it like a good luck charm. You know I always got that mf thang on me

Thank you for the videos. Just got a Harmonica, and it's really nice to have some sort of direction as a beginner. I'm enjoying it so much that I think im going to invest in a Honhner Special 20.

Great idea to take the plates off and block the blow reed to get the note. After a bit I was able to consistently get the 6 hole overblow on my C harp (don’t have a Bb) either no issue. Now to get it without holding the blow reed still. 😂😂😂 It will come eventually. I got my draw and blow bends down. Overblows will come eventually too
