Thanks for this really useful video & information. Your review of the Thistle Hotel & information about using the pods is really useful. I assume they run 24 hours. If so that's a good way to get to T5 when you have an overnight stay to catch early morning flights. Taxis are expensive and the buses & trains don't run early enough for 7am flights when they're asking you to get to airports 3 hours before flights!.

Their business class is world class standard compared to Ethiopian Airlines which seems to be more indigenous

No security fence "airside" then?! I used to travel from Blackpool to the IoM on a Twin Otter with Spacegrand Aviation (I think they eventually teamed up with Jersey European). It was an awesome experience. The flight used to carry on to Belfast City. One day they overbooked it, so they laid on a little four seat Cessna or something, for those only going to Douglas. Fantastic! Spacegrand did offer in-flight service on their Twin Otters. The flight attendant used to come down the cabin with a stack of paper cups and an over-sized Thermos flask. Not recommended if you valued your suit!

I feel Rob and these two Scottish roughnecks are deeply different characters.

I'm guessing this is closed just now for "regular" travellers? Can't find any reference to it on the LCY website. Maybe it's a permanent closure and they're going to have a regular lounge in the new terminal?

It's a freaking parallel departure, even if it is unique for Heathrow. Planes haven't stopped operating transatlantic flights at all throughout the pandemic, and US citizens have been crossing the ocean since summer. Get over it

What an awesome takeoff race between British Airways and Virgin Atlantic airbus A350-1000 XWB series aircrafts from London Heathrow airport. I think that Virgin Atlantic won this takeoff race fare and square.

You know the LHR-JFK flights *have* been operating all this time, during Covid, but UK citizens couldn't travel - that was the issue. I'm a Jamaican citizen, and recently flew LHR to JFK, no problem. But I flew on my Jamaican passport with a visa, not on my British passport (I have dual). If I'd tried to use the UK passport I wouldn't have gone anywhere.
