How to take the driverless pods from Thistle Heathrow to Terminal 5

(If you stayed at the hotel the reception will give you the code for the gate to access the pod parking space for £5. Arriving guests can be buzzed in and will have £5 added to their bill.)

Thanks for this really useful video & information. Your review of the Thistle Hotel & information about using the pods is really useful. I assume they run 24 hours. If so that's a good way to get to T5 when you have an overnight stay to catch early morning flights. Taxis are expensive and the buses & trains don't run early enough for 7am flights when they're asking you to get to airports 3 hours before flights!.

I suspect too many people were bothering them for the code and using the pods for a joy ride and causing delay to genuine passengers.

Why is the hotel charging £5 when the pods are free to use? It's just profiteering, in my opinion. I wonder whether it's possible to walk along the road from the hotel car park to the pods without using the gate.

No according the heathrow website, anyone can just hop on it for fun, free!

That's what the airport charges to use the pods and the hotel passes it on. You can't exit the car park / pod station without paying in one way or another. It's included in your car park charge if you use the car park and the only other way out is through the hotel.
