I just found out about Boyd's departure. I liked to pop in every now and then. I am at a loss for words. He inspired me to improve my craft back when I still had the space for it. 😥

Officially the original 1701 is 947 feet long. Since 72in is 6 feet, that means the model is 1/157.8333 of that. I'd say 1:160 is probably a good scale to go with.

I have several Halcyon Alien kits built up & they can look great if you put the work into the weathering as you have done. Fun Fact: I studied theatre / film design at the same college Sir Ridley Scott attended & over the years have written several pieces on the design / production of Alien. It’s worth noting the reason why the Space Jockey is two different colours. H.R.Giger (who not only designed multiple elements for the film, but took personal responsibility for painting them) was being rushed to finish working on it. This resulted in the main structure being darker in colour than the Engineer / Pilot, as he was unable to finish painting it.

I I also felt that this kit did not accurately represent the phaser, communicator, and tricorder… Until I viewed the Star Trek animated series, which was being aired at the same time this kit was released. To my surprise, these items are exact representations of the phaser tricorder and communicator as seen on the Star Trek animated series! Who knew?!

I've restored 3 motorcycles to perfect original condition. One of them was disqualified at a bike show for being brand new/unused in 2001. It had been left outside from 1987 to 1996 when I bought it. I can not imagine someone else owning them. I hope you got a HUGE amount for your effort!! Beautiful!!
