Nice job, Boyd. A diorama with the revolving garage floor slab would be very cool!

I never really watched the show, but that is one beautiful car! Nice build Boyd! Glad you decided to do the lighting, it adds alot to that car!

Awesome kit and build, Boyd! And you're correct on the reasoning for the car being "dulled' in the show. It's a common practice in movies and TV to spray a car down with a type of powder, to avoid reflections that would show the crew and equipment. Likely the "hero" car (the one used for close-ups and detail) really was painted with a gloss.

That roof turned out just perfect. The molded texture looked a bit coarse at first but for some reason it looks right now, possibly because we’re seeing it against the satin finish instead of the shiny plastic. Good thing the roof had no swirls. Glad to see that you lighted the model. The “dome light” sets off the interior making all the details easily visible, and your work on the figures worthwhile. (I can’t have been the only modeler who put a crisply detailed JoHan body on a Revell or AMT chassis back in the day. The lack of engine and chassis detail in JoHan kits annoyed me as much as the mushy body details on other manufacturers kits, and getting the best of both made me a happier kid.) Once again, thanks for letting me enjoy modeling again vicariously.

It looks like the real thing. I always loved the Black Beauty because it was never as 'over the top' as the Batmobile , the Munster Coach, or other TV cars from the 60s.I have this model and it is fine. Can`t wait to start it!
@outsider2387 ай бұрын
Wow!! Really excellent job on this! I'm very impressed with how you managed to get the finish on the car so perfect. It definitely had a unique look to it having that satin type of look. I also like how you made the top roof and the rest of the car's finish distinguishable from each other. The lights were a nice touch since it had those green headlights. Very nice work on this!!!!!

Very nice work Boyd, I always love your lighting techniques, it makes the models “come alive !” I just bought the Autoart 1/18 version of the car, can’t wait to get it. I don’t have as much time and energy to build much anymore, but I’ve done some show-stoppers, my favorite, being the “Corvette Summer” car in red, instead of the stolen version in gold, hence those nasty criminals repainted the car lol. The whole model was basically cut and ripped apart, so many pieces of styrene that I had to cut, so much filling & sanding and priming. It looks just like the real car in the movie. Cheers, I love your builds, particularly the “Duel” truck, that looks “awesome, what a movie🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Nice job on your build my friend.👍 I'm just about done with my, but on the painting. I had to same problem. I didn't prime it like I normally would have become the body was so nice.. I just cleaned it off with alcohol , let it dry really well and hit it.. Did two really nice coats and put it aside for 2 days. And I thought it was looking great but I was so wrong.. Had those rough spots on the Hood and the right door and rear fender.. But after some extra work, I'm good to go. So I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one.. Again my friend , very nice work as always.👍

OK...my 2 farthings worth....I have seen one of the original TV cars, and it does not have that trim on top of the fenders. And I have not seen it in the series. Otherwise nice build out.
@TrekWorks7 ай бұрын
There are early publicity photos from 1966 of BB & The Batmobile side by side. In those photos the trim was not there on BB. However, having just recently watched the show, the bright trim is clearly there on the fender tops and sides. Also a small strip just above the grill on top of the hood. I did watch the two part you tube video of the guy who had the original restored and it looks like he went with how it looked in the early publicity shots.
