My wife has this exact issue. (SSA deducted previous PDP increased Premium from her SSA monthly benefit this first years payment). I changed plans too, but had no issues because I pay my PDP Premiums through ACH or Auto Debit. Knowing what I know now (recently retired and new to Medicare) I'm not sure why any agent would advise a Newby to Medicare (or anyone for that matter) to sign up for PDP Premium Payments though Social Security. Dealing with your bank or credit card company is a lot easier than dealing with Medicare and Social Security if anything goes wrong. Just my 2 cents worth! Hopefully my wife see an adjustment on next months SSA Benefit.

BTW, Thanks for the Video! Exactly what I was looking for. Surprised there aren't more videos on this issue as I'm sure this issue is quite common.

In the beginning, my statement was incorrect but went back in to SS website in late December and it was correct. However, on 1/3/25 I received my SS check for a lower amount and the old RX plan was listed again. I verified this 3xs and now it's incorrect again and my check was shorted $45.00. What can I do? I've been on hold with SS for one hour and no one is picking up.

I decided this year not to continue with AARP because of their constant pushes for advantage which I always viewed as a sham. Now I know the connection(s) between aarp and united health(care). AARP is not looking out for seniors, they are looking after themselves.

AARP needs to explain why they are promoting this especially evil health insurance company. Is AARP ripping off their subscribers in order to get kickbacks? Let’s see them address this by honest information in their various publications!

Can you get Part A free if you dont have 40 quarters, I have 38 quartersm been a gov employee for 32 years.
@robertsmith64082 ай бұрын
I have been retired from law enforcement for the last 5 years and will turn 65 in 2026. I never paid social security working for the government as we had our own pension. Big question, I am short quarters I have 38 quarters so i know i wont get SS unless i get a job and pay the two quarters. Like i said i have paid Medicare for the last 32 years and i read somewhere that if you dont have 40 quarters of work paying SS that you will pay 270 for Part A and 170 for part B as Part A is to be free for everybody on Medicare. I am confused because I paid into Medicare all those decades why would i not get both. Also since i have a gov pension, I will lose 40 percent of my SS because of the windfill offset, but there is a bill going to the senate to get rid of the offset and will probably pass, Biden will sign before leaving office. When I get 65 the county will cut my grant from 600 to 300 a month as the grant is paying my very high meds for me and my wife currently. My Kaiser senior advantage will be like 180 a month so i can use the extra to grant pay for my wife's Kaiser that runs around 900 because she is 7 years younger then me. Can anybody explain this???

My broker failed to tell me about the "closed book of business" scam. I was misled into believing my Plan G Medigap policy through Mutual of Omaha had really reasonable annual rate increases. In reality, Mutual of Omaha closed that book of business shortly after I signed up and I've had annual rate increases of 15.9% ever since. It is a well known fact that Mutual of Omaha (along with several other insurance companies) routinely do this in order to mislead potential customers. My broker failed to let me know this. S, don't depend upon a broker or an insurance company to give you good guidance. Do your homework!

I just was awarded my disability at age 46. I applied in 2022 and got payments back to February. I have been contacted by an outside company to sign up for Medicare advantage. They said I already qualify for Medicare ANB, but they won’t cover everything. Even though I have Medicaid from low income. Do I need Medicare advantage or can I just accept Medicare A and B. They said it wouldn’t cost me any money whatsoever.
@DaveCLL7 ай бұрын
I bought a Mutual of Omaha Supplement and it was a big mistake! Over the past five years, the rate increases have averaged 15.9% annually. I started at $102.90 and five years later I'm at $215.46 a month. And the reason for this is because the "closed the book" on my plan. I have since learned that this is a common trick pulled by Mutual of Omaha in order to show low starting rates. A very deceptive practice. AVOID MUTUAL OF OMAHA.

It’s definitely not as simple as picking the best price, as different carriers go up in price at different rates. Also, if you have preexisting conditions, you can’t just switch each year, as you will probably have to undergo a medical screening before being accepted after the initial choice. Please let me know if I’m wrong. The biggest problem is making a choice solely on price when you first enroll, only to find your company boosting the premium more as years go by. Is there a way to see which ones boost rates less than others over, say, a 10 year period? Thanks for your video!

Do we have to cancel and give up a Medicare Advantage plan and get a letter of cancellation from the MA company before the Medigap plan accepts us as a client on their plan? I'm concerned that if I surrender my MA plan and I don't qualify for some reason for the Medigap plan then I have to just go with regular Medicare.

I saw that the active & fit went from $25 to $28 in the past year. I talked to LA Fitness which I currently pay $63/ month for myself and husband which is set. (31/ month per person). LA Fitness pushed away from Active & Fit due to the possibility of the price of active and fit going up again. What’s your thoughts?

Both allergists and patients; Be careful before starting Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy. I developed Relapsing Polychondritis (an immune-mediated inflammatory disease) with renal involvement in the form of mesangial nephropathy (which has evolved to fibrosis and glomerulosclerosis leading to renal failure), at the age of 13 during the application of allergen-specific immunotherapy . The mechanisms of SIT, (although not fully understood), mainly lead to the suppression of the Th2-type immune response through the induction of Treg, the immune shift from Th2 to Th1 represented by the production of interferon-γ (IFN- γ). Increased concentrations of IL-10, TNF and TGF-B, and mainly changes in Treg cells and the Th2/Th1 balance, are the mechanisms that can cause autoimmune problems in people receiving allergen-specific immunotherapy. Relapsing Polychondritis is a Th1-mediated condition; its initial phase is characterized by an imbalance of the Th1 and Th2 profile. (as well as the pathogenesis of several autoimmune diseases). Certainly, there are several reports on the induction of autoimmune diseases over several years such as that of Dr. Ghorschi et al, “Manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis during allergen-specific subcutaneous immunotherapy,” “Scleroderma related to specific immunotherapy.” Clinical Case Maciel BM, Morfin BM.” "Turkcapar N, M. Sjogren's syndrome induced by specific immunotherapy"., Pemphigoid-like reaction due to allergen-specific immunotherapy: an unusual adverse reaction Margarita Tomás-Pérez, "Autoimmune thyroiditis detected during allergen-specific immunotherapy: a case report TÜRKELİ" among others. In the medical literature there are some cases about the appearance of AD during SIT, however, most have not been published, and the published cases represent an overestimation of the true incidence of the development of autoimmune diseases in people receiving SIT This delicate topic is mentioned in the main guidelines for the use of specific immunotherapy, such as the EAACI, the DGAKI and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology AAAAI forums. My illness, the illnesses of others, recognize the ignorance and uncertainty of allergists that prevails in this area and call for a strong precautionary principle in relation to autoimmune diseases and allergen-specific immunotherapy. I was treated negligently by an Allergist who is a member of the National Council of Clinical Immunology and Allergy of Mexico, my case was not published in the literature. And that is why it is extremely important to evaluate people for risk of autoimmunity before starting SIT, my situation (along with that of other people) should not be repeated. My body and my health were destroyed by allergen-specific immunotherapy.

Hello Bob. I am 66 and receive good salaries from my own companies. I habe signed up for Medicare A when i was 65 but not for B as the premiums would be very steep for me. I live several months per year in Europe and have a very very good european health insurance, which has wordlwide coverage, so i dont need Medicare B. Next year i want to aplly for social security benefits. Can i still avoid Medicare B?
@MedicareBob7 ай бұрын
There a few factors to think about. If you business is less than 20 employees, you will most likely have to take Part B otherwise if you take it in the future you will be penalized.
