In a way, they are the same, just that XGALX is basically the whole team around. But you'll see for yourself, that everything they do they do it A1 flawless. The mad genius level mastermind behind it all is Simon, their CEO/producer/mentor/trainer/father figure, himself a successful former K-Pop idol a good decade ago, who had a vision of using the K-Pop training methods to form a group that does ... different things. XG is out to break ya idol stereotypes (to quote a Cocona line). Expect the unexpected.

They are unique. I stumbled upon them the day before they debuted ("Tippy Toes"), and have been entranced ever since. You should watch their MOVE #1 (dance cover released before their debut) to see their dance crew energy, the fixed version of their "Shooting Star" dance practice, and VOX #5 (a vocal cypher, for lack of a better word, to get a grasp of the vocal line) or VOX #6. There are 7 videos for MOVE #2, introducing each of the members dancing to song of their choosing to get a feel for their individual personas. The videos are relatively short, so that might be a good way to 'meet' the members. As far as MVs go - "Left Right" should be next - it is the polar opposite of "Woke Up": you spent today getting beat up by the rap line: "Left Right" showcases their vocals and has a very 90's R&B feel.

LOL The "ulreary ggolraery" in the lyrics is a romanization of "얼레리꼴레리" and it's like an old school way kids made fun of each other. It's kinda like a childish tease. Think of it sorta like a kid saying nana nana boo boo or neener neener.

The way I thought of the MV is the member's characters are loosely based on different Greek goddesses. Julie is Aphrodite (symbols of love), Natty is Arachne (spiderweb hair scene), Belle is Hera (peacock themed outfit) and Haneul is Medusa (snake imagery, turning men to stone, bubble braid hair style as a nod to snakes for hair). Medusa's snakes appear a lot around the members which leads me to believe they all sort of function as Medusa (or her sister gorgons, not really sure). When Julie is sitting on the pillar, the shadow behind her is of a snake on the same pillar. Don't ask me how that works lol. The guy looked into Haneul's eyes, that's why he turned to stone, not because she touched him (she was even wearing gloves, they had no skin contact). This happens when Haneul notices she is being followed by him and as she turns around he looks into her eyes and it's then used as a transition into Julie's first line. When they were crowd surfing in statues, it was at their concert where everyone looked at them and then turned to stone. When Haneul is siting around with the statue heads it's in reference to when in mythology Medusa's head was cut off by Perseus and the transition into this scene is from a closeup of the guy as if it's his head. This is a flip in the mythology to suit the lyrics. In KISS OF LIFE's version of the tale, it's Perseus who loses his head. The Midas touch occurs when Natty does touch the ground turning it into gold coins with Medusa's likeness on it but more importantly, when Belle touches the man and he is cured of his life as a statue instead of just turning into gold. They took liberties with that lol.

I love all of their mvs so it's difficult suggesting anything. I did recommend XG's studio choom performance of Puppet Show for tonight's live stream so I hope to see that one 🥰
