Your cons, the $90 price tag, is related to your pros, the life warranty no questions asked. It's not a gift from them, you pay for it. If you use your knife carefully you pay for those who don't.

if you test the grip, i think you should use the knife for at least 4 hours cutting wet bark.. take a rest for 1 hour, then continue with the same knife for 3 more hours.. :) then test the other knife, 3 days later with same method and object. u will realy know which one has realy best grip, ever..

After using one for a bit I think it’s a solid knife. Great for processing small and large game. If the initial edge retention isn’t great give it a good sharpening and it should get better. I think they speed grind them and heat up the edge possible lowering hardness. I noticed it getting harder to sharpen after the first or second sharpening. I ordered the other very similar model to try out. I was gonna order another slightly larger model looked great for skinning but it sold out.

I think there is something wrong with your sharpening, my Hultafors GK gets sharper than my mora bushcraft black and makes feathering easier. Also forgot to put as a parameter how robust they are. Needless to say that Hultafors is at least 6-8 times more robust than others two. See this destruction test for GK where this guy stabs halfway in a stump the GK bend it 90 degrees and gets a tiny bend which disappeared when bending it all the way the other side!!! mora bushcraft black which is more sturdier even if the addition of both mora companion and ganzo (actually I own both Hultafors Gk and Mora bushcraft black and companion) BROKE into two pieces during this test. You can always add an inner tube to the handle of Hultafors which is definitely more ergonomic than mora companion and infinity more sturdier and also put a 90 degrees on the spine with a file or a rock in 5 minutes. But these are just cosmetics TRUTH is that both these good otherwise knives “live” under the shadow of the indestructible Hultafors GK. To my opinion you can only compare the mora companion with the ganzo leave Hultafors outside, you cannon compare kings with soldiers. There is also this test with those guys making destruction tests that they shoot the blade of a GK with a rifle and they fail to brake it. Straight after they do heavy batoningf ine carving, feathering, slicing performing excellent. The longevity and the performance of Hultafors GK should be a subject for teaching in technical schools adding the price range you can safely say there is NO COMPETITOR YET for Hultafors GK just my opinion.

Thanks for the video…. I really like my Esee Izula II. I never wear a neck knife, maybe I will try it out sometime. I have a Joker Erizo, a Cudeman Sanabria Mini, and an Esee CR 4.5… I will keep them all… The only issue with my Izula is when I want to use it for food prep etc , I have a little concern with the coating but nevertheless I have use for food prep. If I live or travel to winter places I will probably be carrying a neck knife, the Izula II would be a great choice. I have a question, I live overseas therefore it is very difficult to get knives down here… the sheath of my Izula is not hold the knife anymore is there anything I can do in order to fix it, at least while I manage to buy a new sheath? Good stuff, i have the eldris, the spew and the minimalist out of this list, all good little knives. The eldris is by far my favorite out of those, ive actually skinned and quarted up to deer with mine. Another great option is the Le Duck, its been vetted for me and has also skinned and quarted up to deer and seems to hold up pretty well. I have many "neck knives" which to me are just smallish blades which I love. I never wear them as such for safety considerations. ie choking. I never found them that comfortable or that convenient. I also never found a good neck lanyard that I felt did a good job of neck retention/break away retention. (possible exception: stainless ball, dog tag chains) at work I often carried one in controlled situations. but never in the woods or on the street. primarily front horizontal carry or on the pack like yours... or in it. not being a huge fan of winter... I usually just carry something huge that dangles out and away from my coat. and small knives usually require I remove gloves anyway which at that point I try to avoid.

OPINEL…with me during the last 50 years 😊 Regarding Silky, why don’t you pack a spare blade ? They weight next to nothing and if you broke the blade 1 you end up with a heavy useless tool. For my pocket i have switch for the bushcraft blade (the dark one) and I kept the original blade just in case. And for ferrocerium you really should try a ceramic Stryker. It is a game changer in making sparks.

Agreed on the sofrin flashlight, great quality and amazing output. I have had a silky saw (gomboy) for 6 years and have never had an issue. The blades are very thin which will cut through anything like butter, but the thin blade does have its obvious drawback… If you abuse it and don’t use it right, it will snap the blade.
