SOS is a classic. I served in the Navy from ‘83-‘89 and got issued a mess kit for survival training which I still have. It is a testament to the storage capacity of our military supply depots that mine was stamped as having been made in 1965.

That’s awesome. I just retired my old kit that I bought in 91 but I’d love to run across an old kit issued during the 30’s or 40’s!
