When you play a song like this you actually ought to know more about the song this was dedicated to Dr Martin Luther King from how little you know I doubt you even know who Dr Martin Luther King is or that he wrote five books this was during an era were there was so much tension between blacks and whites it wasn't the young people mostly it was the older white people the older black people it was back when black people by older white people were thought of as Far Far Below them Dr Martin Luther King said I have a dream that one day men will not be judged on the color of their skin but on their character that's why this was dedicated to Dr Martin Luther King who had been killed not long before that anyway Elvis dedicated this song to Dr Martin Luther King and don't feel bad if you don't know much about Dr Martin Luther King because most black people do not even know their own history and that is such a shame because whether you are white or black or Spanish or Asian you should know your history you should at least know your family tree but for blacks fighting back during this era and especially 5 to 10 years below this era to get equal treatment Dr Martin Luther King did more for Black America did any black man in the history of our country I've always been fascinated with him even though I'm a white man and people say you cannot not see color well if you have been in combat and you have been with these guys that you have been in combat with if you grew up in the projects the only white kid there you get where you don't see color you just know how certain people treat you and certain people don't treat you and if you've never been in combat you will probably never understand what I am talking about these guys black or white or whatever race they were they were your brothers they were my brothers for 4 years they had us over for dinner we had them over for dinner it didn't matter our platoon was our platoon and there are certain people that are going to be hard to get along with no matter what are those people you just stay away from you know who your brothers are I guarantee you you know who your brothers are when you are in combat with them when your life is in their hands and your life is in their hands I guarantee you you do not see color

This song IS Michael McDonald. Listen to his library, and this will jump out at you as being written in his style - with a lot of Jacob and some Lawrence in it.

Really cool interview with a unique musician! Jacob- you should check out and react to Avicii’s behind the scenes and making of “Without You”. Curious to see what you think of his creative style.

I fell ike I always have to remind the young folks. You re listening to a horn band and Van Morrison's principal instrument is saxophone. That's what he sings every time. A Sax solo.

Definitely one of my favorite songs from TTPD!! I’m so excited that you’re covering this album. It has something for everyone and each song is so unique and her pen has grown to a masters level. Really love listening and deciphering her newer work (but I’ll always love the prior ones as well). Seems like she’s changed the prophecy with the football mooch. I can’t help but wish she found someone who could at least spell to keep an interesting and intelligent conversation with Taylor. She’s a literal genius with an IQ of 160, so the mooch is just taking taking taking and not helping her in any aspect. It’s just very one sided but it’s her life to find out how much he’s willing to do to be with her so that he can make it in the entertainment industry … #bummer She’s too talented to be held down by someone who doesn’t hold her up like she’s doing for him. 😔🤨

Why are most of y'all that are reacting on this video wondering if they are having a prompter with the lyrics? Jimmy literally says it... "Follow along with the lyrics as they pop up in front of you"

Interesting thoughts re: technology. My take on it is that progress is good. Technology is great. However, all these advancements were/are meant to SERVE us - not replace us. An artist always has to be an artist regardless of their tools. Something unique of themselves must be incorporated in their art or it's no longer theirs - it's just something that we've programmed to simulate our talents.

Around 3:15 you talk about the recording etc , if youre listening to a digital version , the real way to experience this album is thru vinyl because digital media has to compress the sound making it lose lows and highs , also it's worth it checking out Dark side of the rainbow which is this album paired with the wizard of oz
