After you set the temp, it returned to the previous temp. It might run for 24 hours, but it doesn't appear to have changed the temp. I'm in a hot place. They have it set to 76 damn degrees. I just want it down to 70. Set it after bp and power up, and it just goes back to 76.

Congratulations! I know the feeling. I reached million miler status with United two years ago this month. As a 15 year retiree, I think I am in a minority, as I joined their program the year I retired, and never had a single business trip on United, but many, many leisure trips!

The Lahaina Banyan Tree is a banyan tree (Ficus benghalensis; known in Hawaiian as paniana) in Maui, Hawaii, United States. A gift from missionaries in India, the tree was planted in Lahaina on April 24, 1873, to mark the 50th anniversary of the arrival of first American Protestant mission. Covering 1.94 acres, the tree resides in Lahaina Banyan Court Park. A mere 8 feet (2.4 m) when planted, it grew to a height of about 60 feet (18 m) and rooted into 16 major trunks, apart from the main trunk, with the canopy spread over an area of about 0.66 acres (0.27 ha). It is considered the largest banyan tree in the state and the country. In April 2023, Lahaina held a birthday party to celebrate the Banyan Tree’s planting 150 years ago

The largest tree in the world is General Sherman. This massive tree has a volume of 1,486 cubic meters, over 100 more than the previous entry. The tree is located in the Sequoia National Park’s Giant Forest Grove in California.

The encyclopedias say general sherman in California is the largest tree in the United States. In the redwoods. So you're full of shit.

No matter which way you measure it that is not the largest tree in the United States by any way shape or form. General Sherman's going to beat it pando going to absolutely destroy it. It's possibly the largest banyan tree in the US but it's not the largest tree in the US the largest tree in the US is the largest tree in the world. United States is home to the tallest tree in the world the largest tree in the world by volume and the oldest tree in the world.

Respectively, hard to believe it has more mass than a California Redwood..."Sequoia?" Even though a cylinders circumference is much bigger than its height...

This Banyan Tree the largest leafy tree. The Sequoia are technically nettles, but the General Sherman Sequoia is far and away the largest tree in the world, not to mention part the largest tree "network" in the world as well. The Banyan has the largest root structure, by volume of any tree, but it's impossible to know exactly how large this particular tree's root system is as it's growing on top of a lava bed that almost certainly limits it's ability to grow downward.

Biggest tree in the US is a grove of aspen, covers acres and is 2000yo. I hope the watering of the banyan tree they are doing is going to bring it back, if it’s alive.

What about the giant sequoias in California? They too are over 2000 yo. The Banyan tree definitely has a wider span, and it’s beautiful too. Just not sure if it’s the largest in the US. I do hope it survives.

I sat under the Banyan tree six months ago. While visiting Maui was interested in the history of the island and Lahaina and learned about this magnificent tree. Tragically almost every historic building, records, and artifacts from Lahaina’s past have been destroyed by the fire. The Banyan tree stands, albeit charred.
