When you remove the plate that has PRND printed on it, the bulb will be on the left side. To remove the plate you will need a flat head screwdriver to lift the tabs and move the plate to the side.

You didn't use a primer on the raw plastic. Ideally you'd need to spray a grey primer, sand that smooth and re-apply a couple of times. Then apply a good quality colour coat, preferably followed by a strong protective clear or a mix of colour and lacquer if budget is a concern. This paint will look terrible and cheap very quickly once you get adhesion issues and a bit of wear. Hope this helps when you need to re-do the paint!

Yeah, way too coarse. The soft-touch paint comes off with a little alcohol anyway. I found this out mid-pandemic when I got hand sanitiser on the console.... At worst, the surface should be taken through the grits to about 240 if there is major surface scratching, however I'd be more likely to give it a skim of poly filler and start straight at 240. A high build primer might cover 150-180 but needs flatting at 240 before colour coats anyway. Came across this video because I'm vinyl-wrapping the centre console with 3M brushed black metal after a custom Android install. Just needed to know how to remove some parts and see how other people got along.

The tray can be popped off with a flat head screwdriver. It comes off very easily. Once it is off, you will see the two screws so make sure you have a Philips head screwdriver.
