Hey, my question is how many years of college do I need for me to be qualified as a travel nurse and what would be my exact major in college for this
@DijahAlize
@DijahAlize Ай бұрын
Hey you need to go to nursing school and either get an associates in nursing in 2 years or a bachelors in nursing in 4 years. Then work as a nurse for 2 years some agencies will take you at 1.5 years experience but it’s not common anymore.

It really depends on your specialty and the season you work in. Rates fluctuate. Winter rates are always higher and usually around 3k

Hospital internal Travel is where the money is. A lot of the hospitals are moving away from agencies to internal. The hard part is internal travel is not advertised as much so it’s harder to find.

Hello may I ask which hospital system you are referring to? Are you in central Florida or south Florida? I am looking for a prn but I am adults ICU. I'm lost as to this nursing shortage because Florida don't seem to be hiring anywhere and if they are the rates are so low. I'm currently in South Florida

Hi I don’t feel comfortable disclosing which hospital system I work in currently but I can give you some information on Florida systems in general because I’ve worked in a few. South Florida typically pays a lot less and has less jobs. Central Florida has a lot more jobs with better pay, better cost of living, and better incentives like hourly rates and additional bonuses. I’ve heard good things about Advent for prn employees and they have a lot of facilities. I’ve also heard good things about TGH and Moffitt in Tampa as well.

I would look into healthtrust agency nursing for hca. There are plenty of openings for ICU and nurses in general. However, I'm not sure about pediatric nursing, but just look into it. It's better to be agency and pick up shifts than on contracts and get canceled.

I knew while i was in school i never wanted to be a PEDs nurse or work with baby’s or work in the ICU. I already know what type of gatekeeper mentality they have against black girls already. Then to be a travel nurse and u still don’t see us in a lot of these facilities. This why i stuck with med surg until i can fund my business and get all the way out of bedside nursing. Good luck on FNP school

Hi Dijah, May I know the average cost of studying accelerated nursing degree in usa? I’m looking for cheaper colleges (community colleges?) with any scholarship; I am 39 years old, Canadian citizen, pursued masters in Biotechnology and Masters in Public health in Canada and have been working in clinical trials for more than 11 years in canada but I am always fascinated about nursing; if you could let me know some community colleges in US that would offer accelerated bachelor nursing be great help!

@DijahAlize
@DijahAlize 11 ай бұрын
Facilities only count nursing jobs as experience. I’ve only seen being an lpn or cna count as experience for an RN job, but you will still be classified as a new grad since you’ve never worked as an RN.

I’ve been considering enrolling into a Nursing program. Been gathering input and doing some research. I have a question. Are Nursing students being forced to take the Covid Vaccine in order to attend Nursing school and work at a Hospital? By forced I mean required. To me its all the same.🤷‍♀️
@DijahAlize
@DijahAlize Жыл бұрын
When I was in nursing school, the Covid vaccine was fairly new but we were able to get exemptions because of religious or medical reasons. In all honesty, it’s really the hospitals requiring the vaccines or exemptions because that’s what they require for their staff so if you don’t do either you won’t be allowed into clinicals.
