Miss question, when is the last time you saw a movie that takes place in the same room? Other than Life Boat by Hitchcock. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this video. I'm not good at telling what people like so this is probably a bad idea, ( referring to the amount of veiws you will get ) " 29th Street " Danny Aeillo, Anthony Lapaglie. True story about the first New York state lottery winner. In the movie the real Frank Pesce plays his older brother Vito. It totally reminds me of the basic Italian American family of the 1970s.

I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas eve, in Philadelphia it's the biggest day of the year for Roman catholic Italians we have a huge feast but no meat, it's sometimes called the night of the 7 fishes. P.S. Under no circumstances am I suggesting that you react to the TV show " everybody loves raymond " if you want to know how horrible we are ( Italian Americans ) it's a good example. The reason the family started exploding was because the ant broke the rules because she still tried to kill Grace and declared that she must still die and went to go attack her. And Mr. Lebail killed her as a consequence, then killed the rest of the family because they all agreed and none of them tried to stop her from killing Grace and let me just say they all deserve it in the end.

You wondered how no one heard the queen ants flying on the boat or flying near the river. The noise the ants make are when they are communicating with one another. Since the queen ants are flying alone there is no need to make any noise except the flapping of their wings. That river was the Los Angeles River which was covered in concrete to prevent flooding in the 1950’s. They have since removed the concrete in some areas and restored it to its natural state.

Every Kubrick film is a masterpiece. This and 2001 are probably my favourites. Peter Sellers, who played the President, the British Captain and Doctor Strangelove himself, was also a genius, and I would recommend one of his called Being There, which co-stared Shirley McClain. And if you've never seen it, I hope you'd consider the original 1968 version of Planet of the Apes, if you like having your mind blown 😄

“Fluoridation” was a program that the US adopted after WW2, to add fluoride to the public water supply in most cities, because fluoride was discovered to reduce dental complications and improve the health of teeth, and when health officials realized that dental health was an important factor in general overall health. Today, some communities have reduced or stopped adding it because some people showed sensitivity or negative reactions to fluoride. But between 2/3 and 3/4 of all public water supply in the US has some fluoride added. Because a lot of anti-communist, or anti-Russian hysteria gripped the US after WW2 and in the decades of the “Cold War”, rumors began to spread that fluoridation was a plot of Russians, altho it was always a US program. Since the 1960’s, dental health of most US citizens has improved, and fluoridated water is one aspect of that, especially for people who cannot afford dental care or live far from dental medical facilities.

Really?? That is another thing i've never heard of. It sounds interesting but i kinda can understand people being a bit paranoid. I mean... i wouldnt be, i drink tap water here in italy as well but i guess in a time where things are super tense, people gets even more paranoid
@michaelwebster83893 ай бұрын
One of the two greatest political satires I think there has ever been made. And the scary thing is this level of paranoia and lunacy is actually what was driving so much of the military in the cold war on both sides. General Buck Turgidson was loosely based on Curtis LeMay, one of the joint chiefs of staff at the time, and the architect of America's bombing campaign against Japan in WWII.

Fun reaction to a film classic for all times...a few comments in regards to your thoughts. "Peace Is Our Profession" really was the motto of the Strategic Air Command (SAC) of the US Air Force from 1946 until 1992...when SAC was disbanded at the "end" of the Cold War with the USSR. Since SAC's main job was to deter the USSR from ever starting a nuclear war with the USA, and SAC controlled all of the USA's land based ICBMs and nuclear bombers, you can see why "Peace Is Our Profession" was meant to be reassuring to the American people. Ripper ordered all the radios taken away because he did not want anyone on his base to hear that there were normal radio broadcasts going on with music and news and stuff. It was not about people transmitting information from inside the base to the outside it was about keeping the men on the base from getting access to outside information that would prove there was no actual war going on. Unfortunately, you were talking when Peter Sellers spoke one of the most famous comedic lines in ALL of cinema history at 15:23..."Gentlemen! You can't fight in here...this is the WAR ROOM!" 😂 As a general suggestion...it is almost always better to pause the movie when you want to react, so that you do not miss anything important or very funny. I understand you only spoke very briefly at that moment, but the timing in that instance was just awful. 17:48 "I don't know how they are keeping their faces straight!" Some of them were not able to...if you look carefully during the phone conversation scene, you will see the Russian Ambassador's face break into a smile a couple of times. LOL In real life, the USA did have an airborne alert program during the 1960s known as Operation Chrome Dome...though it usually only involved no more than 5 planes at a time and the planes that were airborne flew in a circular pattern around the lower USA, Greenland, Canada, and Alaska. But for 7 years or more, there were always at least a couple of B-52 bombers fully armed with nukes airborne somewhere over North America...so something like what happened in this film was at least partly possible during that time but it never happened...as far as we know.
@reppyreacts3 ай бұрын
I had no idea the "Peace Is Our Profession" was a real thing but it kinda makes sense when you explain it. Still, it sounds a bit funny seeing the line of work ghghghg. About the radio thing... you are so right. I didnt even think about that. It always happen to me to talk over stuff expecially if i am saying just a couple of words 😂😂 it's not the first time that that happens even tho I am trying to get bette 😂😂😂 It is scary to think about these kind of things. Like... how many time were we on the brink of something terrible? Maybe even worse of the ones that really happened.... jeeez
@iKvetch5583 ай бұрын
@@reppyreacts Not so fun fact, there were at least 5 accidents linked to the Chrome Dome program that involved bombers crashing with nuclear weapons on board. There were multiple occasions when expensive clean up operations had to be undertaken to gather up radioactive materials that had been spread by one of these crashes. So there were definitely several times when something bad happened that could have been catastrophic, but was not due to luck or other nearly random factors.
