The reason the family started exploding was because the ant broke the rules because she still tried to kill Grace and declared that she must still die and went to go attack her. And Mr. Lebail killed her as a consequence, then killed the rest of the family because they all agreed and none of them tried to stop her from killing Grace and let me just say they all deserve it in the end.
