A really helpful video - thank you! I went to change the back pads and found the entire disc/calliper set up was rotten, so it's got to be new everything. I just hope I am as lucky as you with getting that hose off!

I bought an Arrow metal shed !within 12 months it was rusty ,contacted the manufacturer Most unhelpful now after a few years it’s falling apart in windy weather I have to put cement blocks on it and use USBboards propped up to hold the doors from blowing in! DO NOT Buy a metal shed it’s flimsy putting it up is rubbish thick gloves are not good enough to stop you from bleeding all over the place! DO NOTBUY ONE!

Sounds like you've had a bad experience there Colin. Mine is still going strong and I've been surprised by how rust resistant it's been so far. Maybe you were unlucky, did you get the specific shed I linked to?

Absolutely love your E30 series. Currently using it as a step by step guide while I do my full resto, on the engine bay now. Unrelated question, how has the carpet dye held up? I've got the same poverty spec carpet and would love to dye it black as you have yours. Cheers!

Awesome really glad the videos are helping as a guide for you. This is why I kept the details in. 😃 The black carpet dye still looks awesome to be fair. So glad I did that before putting it back in. Obviously the car isn't a daily driver or a winter car, so it hasn't had tons of wear and tear since, but it seems like it will be just fine and a permanent solution. No complaints so far.

Hi bruva I ve got e46 325ti u see when u turning ignition what is that noise it's like electrical system turning on mu car stop doing that it's been off road n I am trying to started but that ignition when u first time turning zzzzz noise is not coming on in my car used to do it ,what is that relay for fuel pump I need help sound 1.12_1.13 min when u starting the engine
@SPANNERRASH
@SPANNERRASH 17 сағат бұрын
Sounds like your fuel pump isn't priming, that's the electric noise you can hear when I turn my ignition on and an E46 has the same. I would start by checking the fuses and making sure the relays click, if that doesn't help, its time to look at the pump which I believe will be in the tank on an E46 too. Maybe its gummed up from sitting. You can put 12v power directly too it to confirm whether the pump works or not. Hope that helps!

Looking great! I found Lseat yeeears ago and still haven't pulled the trigger. My seats are in far worse shape than yours so it will involve quite a bit more work (foam repair, bending frame, etc) but the quality looks absolutely phenomenal. I am amazed at the condition of your ~35 year old seat foam, but FYI - steam will expand the foam basically back to new and bring back its "springiness". It's especially useful for a driver seat as it usually get pancaked on that edge by the door from years of getting in and out. Best to do it before putting the new covers on but you can certainly still do it with them on it will just take quite a bit longer to get through that leather. I wouldn't worry about the small wrinkles in the cover; a few hot summer days will take care of that as you mentioned.
@SPANNERRASH
@SPANNERRASH 2 күн бұрын
My rear seat is in exceptional condition but the fronts are from an earlier car and are much worse condition. I am planning to try steam depending on what I find underneath the old covers. It's looking like a repair is needed to the bolster foam.

Great video! Those turned out really nice. I’ve been looking at Lseat for a while for mine but I’m at a bit of a predicament, my rear seats aren’t foam. They’re horsehair with the metal cage. Never seen anyone reupholster these type which is a shame. Might end up trying to find a foam pair. As for your front seats I wouldn’t bother trying to use the houndstooth. Would look out of place with the rest all black and new. Keep up the awesome work on this project!
@SPANNERRASH
@SPANNERRASH 4 күн бұрын
Cheers! Horsehair seats?! I didnt even know they made those, what year are that kind? You may well be able to do the same job on them to be fair, seems like a different kettle of fish though. Maybe you're right about the houndstooth, the more I look, the more worn that drivers seat appears too...

Cars a H reg, 1990. The front seats are foam and so is the rear seat base. But the rear seat back is horse hair. It’s got an armrest and headrests so don’t know if that affects it. I remember the early e30s seats were horse hair but thought they’d moved on from that will the later cars. It’d probably be difficult to trim the armrest, best leave it for the professionals, or find a foam rear seat.

Wow what a great video found this really interesting in how these fit and the hooks you buy n special tool you use add like in time to strip my drivers seat on the e46 m3 to layer the foam back up again and also ive got to look into why my bolsters keep deflating guessing theres a leak somewere or a faulty valve but all good fun hey
@SPANNERRASH
@SPANNERRASH 5 күн бұрын
Cheers Mike! Glad you enjoyed. I actually had a similar thing with one of my E46 bolster deflating. I took the seat back off and you can see the air bag, there appeared to be nothing wrong with it as far as I could tell, so I put it up and down a few times and put it all back together. Its worked perfect since. I think the valve gets a bit sticky or something. You do hear of popped bags though so it could be that too.
