Honest question - what happens to all of the moisture which is trapped between the original roof and the new covering? Surely it'll just rot the new deck?
@timelapseroofing4 ай бұрын
Hi Neil good question. With this system being mechanically fixed and not fully bonded this allows for air to pass under the membrane to some extent which in return over time allows and trapped moister to evaporat. The water isn't ideal but that's tge joys of roofing in the uk. There was a job before that was the same but years later we returned to flash a log burner in and the roof had dried out fine so we are confident it not cause future problems . Hope I've answered your question 👍🏼

Nice Video, is the membrane/rubber sheet already coated with a glue or do you have to apply it then use heat gun ? and what is the material called ?
@timelapseroofing5 ай бұрын
hi Alan , the material is a single ply pvc membrane called fatra. and is a mechanically fixed system where it is glued to the pads that you see us put down at every 650mm. the gun is the fuse the joints where the material joins. thankyou

Try iko upxl miles more durable and 6 times thicker

My opinion is: if the video is slow and narrative viewers can understand, learn, and take the initiative to try recommending it to their clients. When it comes to spending money on refurbishment, the video is not very convincing, and I don't think it has made any increase in the sales.

Well mate you shouldn't have let the ply to get soaked and wet. Vapour was trimmed short. Hopefully you get back to fix it whenever she call you.

100% agree with you. But this was a last minute recovery job from previous bad trades that didn't come back. 👎

Why put boards on top of felt and not strip roof to joists?!
@timelapseroofing7 ай бұрын
Hi @msvlogs729 the decking didn't require changing. and the felt is left on to be used as a vapour barrier.
