Perhaps he proposed to Lady Catherine’s daughter afterwards, an excellent match for both of them from a worldly point of view. I also like to think that after the wedding of her two eldest daughters Mrs Bennet (still presumably only in her early forties) finally succeeded in presenting her husband with a son. Charlotte would not have had to regret the loss of the prospect of life at Longbourn, as no doubt Mr Collins will have managed to grovel himself into an appointment with an agreeable residence in the Close at Canterbury.

You have a lot of the same favourites as me!!! Therefore my TBR recommendation is: Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles. They are bloody fabulous, batty, genre bending, historically topnotch researched, hilarious and melodramatic. But they are above all absolutely beautifully written.

I love the woeful look after the refusal sunk in. The eyes say the pain of it all! A look into the soul of Mr. Darcy. Oscar worthy acting there. "Towards him, I've been kinder than towards myself." Ouch! Your version is chef's kiss! Bravo ! 👏 👏 👏 . Thanks for sharing. 🎉🎉❤

The fact that Mr Collins’ sensual caressing of the closet isn’t his funniest moment in this video speaks volumes to your creativity and physicality ❤😂

Proposing to you is akin to proposing to a barnyard animal in how it would be viewed by my peers. It is truly degrading and humiliating, but for some godawful reason I am emotionally forced to do so. *shocked pikachu at being rejected*

What kills me is that Lady Catherine knew that “entailed” meant that Lizzie has no legitimate brothers, but she’s so nosy that she’s asking anyway.

Mr. Collin's way of walking/flailing about is so iconic that we simply MUST rank it up at the top alongside the great Captain Jack Sparrow's

What gets me are the people who keep quoting the Hollywood version of this scene. “I love you most ardently!” 🤦🏻♀️ I get that it’s the more “popular” one with the younger crowd but it makes me cringe every time. Not half as good! The BBC version is just so much better!😄
