You have captured their expressions to perfection. This is pure GOLD!

The Emma movie was my first exposure to Jane Austen and I loved her language construction. As a middle aged American I find it complex and delightful. Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Northam brought it to life for me. It's my #2. Follows P & P of course!!

I downloaded every episode on my phone to listen to while I’m at work. You, my sir, have ruined/improved it for me. I could only see your face while listening…and I admit. I laughed out loud more than once.

Emma is my favourite - love all the characters- the snobbishness. The fussy father. Miss Bates. Emma’s know it all interfering. And the way she realises that ,of course, it always was and can only be Mr Knightley.

This is still underacting when compared to Mary Boland as the mother in the 1940 version.

I have never seen a bufoonish Mr Collins turn into a steaming hot, brooding Darcy in a matter of seconds. Surely this should be illegal ❤ Can I suggest North and South next? You'd make an amazing Richard Armitage.

Who could have ever predicted that a couple of safety pens, lace doilies and a lampshade could create the best adaptation of Pride and Prejudice? I think Jane Austen would have approved!

I collect Penguin Classics, Oxford World Classics, or Alma Classics paperbacks to be my working versions, where I scribble my marginalia, highlight the text, etc. For that reason, I don't buy used, because I'm not really interested in someone else's scribblings, and it's worth the extra couple of quid to me to not have to check every page of the book. If it's an English language book, then I tend to purchase the Penguin version, as I line my bedroom with those, and the wife graciously allows that as long as it's uniform design of the back. If it's non-English OL, then I decide between the three publishers by whoever carries the translation I prefer. My "fancy" versions are Penguin Clothbound, or Everyman's Library.

I found your videos through your PNP series 😅 which i absolutely adore 😂 I love that you're studying the Bible and taking it seriously as a piece of art! It may not be fiction but I feel like so many people are willing to dismiss it because they don't like the religions associated with it. So thank you for taking it seriously!! Also, my own opinion, but if you're interested in the original meanings and the translations from Greek and Hebrew, then I recommend reading the ESV of NASB translations. These are the most faithful to the original Hebrew. They can be a little harder to interpret because the wording isn't as easy, but then again sometimes it's clearer what the original author was intending. Those are def my favorite versions of the holy Scriptures. Just my opinion :) You just gained a new subscriber 😁! Keep up the good work!

I have fond, almost psychedelic memories of reading Jane Eyre on a long bus journey in Cornwall. Hearing Cornish ladies nattering away in the background about bin collections and seagulls while the mad wife in the attic is rampaging around was something I'll never be able to replicate.

The dancing 🤣 It reminded me of birds of paradise and other similar fancy birbs doing their mating dances With that running through my head it just made the ridiculous more hilarious 😂 😂

Does anyone know what the name of the piece of music playing in the background of the (absolutely hilarious!) dance sequence is? Curious if anyone knows if it's a piece from the time period or was written for the TV show?
