Genius. I bought one of these recently, but I don't know what type of needle or code is ideal for it, can you tell me? Thanks!

Sandie, I have an opportunity to purchase a Singer 72W19. I have called all around my area to find someone who can service the machine but cannot find anyone. The motor belt is broken so I'm not even sure if it works. Do you think I will be able to learn myself how to adjust this machine? I have always wanted a hemstitching machine and it has a lovely table and they are only asking $600. I feel this is a great opportunity but I am little skidding. Any encouragement or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Melanie.

I've recently purchased one of these and your videos were very helpful, but I'm still having problems. The thread from the left bobbin will not pick up. I've tried everything I can think of or find about it with no luck. The right one works perfectly. I swapped bobbin cases to see if that made a difference to no avail. Any suggestions?

I just purchased this machine! My right bobber does not have the flip/snap in on the top of the bobber🤦🏼♀️ also missing the two wire clips in the tension. I’m steadily looking for these parts😫 do you know anyone that sells parts ?

Hi Sandie! I bought a "Cranky Lady" a while ago and have not been able to use it because of lack of needles. I just found a place to buy them. Have you use needles size 16 or it can only work with size 12 or 14? I want to work on 2 layers of fabric at the same time to make a blanket.

I know this is late but per instructions the thread does not go through the thread tensioner and back up over the small posts in the middle.. It goes straight down to thread controller. But I also have a question. My backup machine sews smooth and looks decent but there is no "hole" in the stitch. Tension too tight???

Hi. I have the same machine as you do, and I was wondering if you knew where to get a piercer that's winged. Mine broke and I need to get a replacement.

Very pretty detail used to create visually interesting intersections in between joined fabrics in lieu of traditional seams, like a short peplum sleeve to a bodice armhole allowing some skin to show through the embroidery. Also for multi-tiered skirts, allowing floating seams between layers.

Thank you so much for sharing this information! I love these vintage machines and attachments...the machines made today don't even compare, in my opinion! I'm assuming you can weave whatever design you fancy? Do you know if there are patterns? Thanks again!

There are a few designs that are in some of the singer design books of the era.

There should be a winder to the right of the machine. I would do a demo video, but mine is not aligned correctly. I will have to do some work on my machine first.

Sandy, at 3:09 you said the right needle is threaded right to left, but you then you said the thread would come out to the right. I’m assuming that your second comment is the correct way since the left needle goes from right to left? Thank you for the help!

how do you adjust the tension?
@SewingBuzz5 жыл бұрын
Just turn the knob on the tension discs. Turn toward you for more tension and away from you for less tension.

Thank you! I'm wondering, in a pic I saw of a Singer 72w19, it showed both threads going under the silver heavy guide under the tension discs. I've noticed that your instruction does not go under the guide. What do you think?
@SewingBuzz5 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. I have never done that. Is that how you've been threading? I've just treaded the machine based on the instruction from the the manual, but it doesn't mean I haven't overlooked something.

Would you mind commenting me as to which set of screws I loosen to change the needles in the 72w19. The top set or the bottom set. I've tried the bottom but the needles won't come out.
