So very very well explained! These old Singer attachments fascinate me, so ingenious. I really admire those people who designed and made them. Also the creative minds who used, and still use, them today.

Very pretty detail used to create visually interesting intersections in between joined fabrics in lieu of traditional seams, like a short peplum sleeve to a bodice armhole allowing some skin to show through the embroidery. Also for multi-tiered skirts, allowing floating seams between layers.

Thank you! I bought my attachment on ebay. If you keep your eyes open, you can sometimes find them for a pretty decent deal.
