Great talk. The one thing I would add is that by saying that esotericism is hidden in “weird” stories, which to your point isn’t necessarily seen with Greek or other esotericism (although I think there is enough mythology to point to which itself can be thought of as esoteric ancient knowledge) he’s slowly pointing to how Torah in general has a deeper layer hidden in its narrative. And while usually you wouldn’t even think to look there for it since it makes sense on the surface, the weirder stories sort of force us to get into the habit of looking beyond the surface - because we have no other choice in that case. But once we get used to doing that, than the whole Torah has the potential to open up to reveal something deeper… As he explains with Gal Enai

I do believe that more often than not people use the term happy instead of saying oh I feel 'productive' or oh I feel that I'm 'achieving' or I feel that I'm in the right place. People just say, I'm happy Then again, instead of saying I feel achieved, maybe he is happy 'because' he is achieving Or, he is happy because he feels he's productive

Genuine issue, but why not focus on increasing the Keilim & explaining the ideas in more understandable ways (instead of focusing on those who can’t use plain words to describe the things they learn but don’t understand)? In Chabad, the Chet of Nadav & Aviu is similar to the 3 that didn’t survive Pardes. Getting lost in theory & not having the Bitul to bring it into action. Ie. Rotza without Shuv. The Bitul causes a person to recognize that the Tachlis is bringing it back into the world & not getting lost up there. Anyhow, good Shiur. Shkoyach Ps. I don’t know if what you’re describing is a problem in your community, but in Chabad it is. However, it was done intentionally in order to spread the mayonos so that the people who needed to hear the ideas, who would understand, would hear them. As the Mashal said regarding the prince who was ill & the medicine was in the crown jewel. They crushed it and poured hoping a small drop with heal him. Even though most was wasted. The same goes for those who learn Chabad Chassidus with all its depth but don’t understand. They tell it over until the small drop enters the prince (or Kohen) - One of which is the creator of this video

For the first 5 minutes of talking about this book, I have learned that it is a BOOK, which has parts, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Parts prefaces, indexes and absolutely no details and what this book is about. Even if I was Jewish I still would be none the wiser. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY because you are talking and saying nothing, teaching nothing, explaining nothing, it's now been 10 minutes, and still no content.??????????????? Your intent should be to explain to a layman.

Well, I would like to know how morals are objective and from god? I have some questions that expose some problems with that idea. People of all kinds please state if you are christian or muslim, atheists, agnostics or any combination of those and then if willing participate in the test. As well, looking for 5 good moral theist questions for atheists/agnostics. #1 You see a child drowning in a shallow pool and notice a person just watching that is able to save the child with no risk to themselves but is not, is that persons non action moral? #2 If you go to save the child, the man tells you to stop as he was told it was for the greater good, but he does not know what that is, do you continue to save the child? #3 Is it an act of justice to punish innocent people for the crimes of others? #4 If you were able to stop it and knew a person was about to grape a child would you stop it? #5 Would you consider a parent who put their kids in a room with a poison fruit and told the kids not to eat it but then also put the best con artist in the room with the children knowing the con artist will get the kids to eat the fruit and the parent does nothing to stop it a good parent?
@john4elohim11 ай бұрын
I'll begin with addressing just your question as to how morals are objective and from God. If we clear that up, I'll be easier for me to handle your other questions. I'm a Christian by the way. The evidence for objective morality is deductive in nature. Subjective morality is an absurd idea, because taking that stance means we will have to agree that rape is not an ultimate wrong - so settling for such an idea is less reasonable and requires greater faith than believing in the objective nature of morality. In this line of reasoning, we can draw the inference that it is more likely that morality is objective. And if morality is objective, it trancends matter and can therefore be treated as evidence of the existence of a supernatural Law-maker. The other part of the question: Moral absolutes are part of God's nature.
