The description includes 'natural succession', yet ALL the descriptions and vids show 'weeding' out of the early annuals/perennials that are not woody plants, i.e. classic is the dandelions, which in one vid are shown as being weeded out by Maya... and then tossed over the boundary fence. So it isn't even providing 'OM ' within the growing forest. So clearly, as yet, 'they' don't understand their product.

Tom keeps repeating that the problem of the human impact in nature can't be solved from a pure ecologic point of view (administration of natural resources). It must include a socio-economic aspect were centralism is somehow avoided. I think our socio-economic habits (that ultimatelly create the centralization) can't be changed by pure will, since they respond to deeper market mechanisms. If you think the problem is socio-economic in its core, then we should be talking about capitalism and how to "change" it. I personally don't think capitalism can be turn to "good" by somehow fixing it relationship with nature.

April 2024. The Keeling Curve this year is showing an anomalous CO2 rise that's ~8 times higher than can be accounted for by Human burning of Fossil Fuels. That CO2 came from somewhere and Climate Science ISNT EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS Co2 Anomaly. Probably coming from the Oceans. They are warming due to lower cloud cover resulting in more Short Wave water warming...that causes increased Co2 emissions, but not enough to account for the CURRENT KEELING CURVE ANOMALY. I imagine that a century plus of road and parking lot proliferation has done serious harm to the natural water cycle.

I visited a South Dakota Farm that had been practicing Soil Regeneration for over a decade. That soil can absorb 10" of rainwater per hour. There is no runoff even in a downpour. That farm was productive in drought yesrs when surrounding farms had crop failure. They get normal yields without fertilizers. Multi-species Cover Crop Plant Diversity was an important tool in regenerating this soil. CO2 sequestration was over 50 tons per acre. Universal adoption of Ag Soil Regeneration would solve so many problems: • Erosion • Topsoil depth increases. 1" of Subsoil can be converted into Topsoil in 4 to 5 years...not 1000 years. • Eliminate poison runoff into streams and lakes and oceans. • Refill Aquifers • Little to no Fertilizers required • The soil holding so much water IS COOLER on hot days...UP to 10° cooler • The continental rain cycle would return to normal. More rain in smaller amounts per storm. • Diversity of all life EXPLODES locally • CO2 Sequestration on 4 billion Acres @ 25 tons per acre would stop climate change.

Yes to Richard 30:00 about needing to reduce our energy consumption overall. Renewable energy generation does not have the capacity to replace fossil energy entirely. I would add, in terms of personal consumption; this is the easiest area to affect change. Switching to a smaller vehicle or even riding a bike will vastly reduce one's personal energy consumption. Next is to shrink the consumption of energy in food, to eat more local and more plant based. We can't expect everyone to be able to afford electric cars.

Stop using ff tomorrow and start the large scale drawdown of atmospheric co2 the day after, it will take centuries to achieve pre industrial co2 levels. The atmosphere and the oceans maintain a co2 equilibrium. The oceans which have absorbed the bulk of 'additional' co2 over the past centuries will simply replace 99.999999 per cent of the co2 we somehow remove from the atmosphere. Plenty of good reasons to end ff use, but stabilizing the climate is not one (although some benefit may accrue many, many generations down the road). We have to act to stabilize and cool the climate. Restoring the water cycle is key and the first steps are A) preserving the remaining functional forests, and B) restoring the soil carbon sponge.

Dichotomies such as carbon dioxide or ecosystems is an unreliable view of what we need to do to mitigate or even resolve climate change. We can both restore pre-industrial CO2 levels AND the ecosystems of the world. It is certain that if we don't make urgent inroads into mitigating climate related impacts on populations and food security we will have even further devastation to the ecosystem. And so all of this needs to be represented in a transformation of the economic system and that is also a very complex issue if we want to move the economy so that it works for the mass of the 8 billion people.

Fantastic to see the different conservation and ecological restoration projects that occur around the world. Very cool to learn about the positive humanitarian impacts it can have too. We don't talk enough about how healthy ecosystems can promote agriculture. Eka has found a new fan!

I lived without electrocity and gas now just accidentally and it is allright. Nothing chamge my habits like this! Just use daily light and eat fresh food. You will really eatch out for water if you have only cold water. You don't need take shower daily-only feets and you know. Use antyperspirant so you can wash once a week. You are not dirty is your natural skin barroer from bateria and stop destroying it. You must change your habits. Dont make laundry everyday and don't take bath every day. Is possible to clean all in house by using warm water and microfiber material-fat you can remove by paper towell and boiled water. Yoh don't need chemistry. For laundry there is special plant. For hairs herbs and olive oil.

I have just seen an article about there being a shift of a 1meter circle at the North Pole, in other words the North Pole is decribing an arc of 1 meter. This, taking a line vertically through the axis of the planet and taking another line a right angle to the eguator would mean a signicant wobble at the Equator ------------ now we are pumping trillions of tonnes of undercround water to the surface, the largest aquifier on the planet under the Sahara is going to be, and is being mined by the nations domiciled there. In my opinion most of this water is going to evaporate to the atmosphere due to the methods of agriculture that it will be used to support .......... Climate Change aside this is contributing to a change in the balance of the Earth, I feel that the oceans will have to accomodate this inbalance by changing the fluid dynamics already in play............ which are already under stress from Polar Ice Caps Dissolution.
