Well I'm gonna give this a try- doubtful I can pull it off based on 2 things. For starters I pruned my onions to give the " stalks a better chance of not falling over so soon, and the onions have sized up beautifully-- but I might have cut too low for the weave material. Secondly, and probably more importantly is my lack of craft skills--- I possess zero skills ! But I like the looks and practicality of it all- thanks for sharing!

Shouldn't you be drying that out first any water/moisture from the plant will make the oil go rancid very quickly

I've always used fresh yarrow, cover with olive oil and leave the jar in the sun for a few weeks and then strain it to use for salve. I haven't had it spoil yet, and I've made it this way for the past several years. That's a good idea to dry the herbs first just in case!

A story and a question: I finish my day of work on a bikeride on quiet country roads while listening to music. Utube created a playlist so I just peddle and I have "my tunes!" Your songs were on there as well as some of the Whiteville farm kids' songs. Delightful!! This song I am not familiar with but like all the others: enjoyed! Question; Are you familiar with ,or ever covered THE WATER IS WIDE, or FIELDS OF GOLD. Lastly I enjoy the simple sound of a guitar with vocals covering good lyrics. Thank you

Awww that's okay! I will look up the Water is Wide, I do know Fields of Gold, that's a beautiful song, I haven't done a cover of that one yet. I love Peter, Paul and Mary, the lyrics and harmonies bring me peace, and they're songs are in my range which makes their songs fun to sing! I'm so glad you enjoyed our songs!

So much fun to watch with the kids helping-- especially with their excitement over the pink color of applesauce. Production of apples appears to be good this year-- I have a variety called Pink Pearl that I think the kids would " geek" over! Perhaps a barter situation if you're interested. I just picked cherries off the first tree today and it's 10 days early. In a normal year the Pink Pearls are ready around mid September. I could drop them off at a farmers market for you all. I hope your summer goes well for you all!

That sounds wonderful! Yes we just picked a few cherries off of one of our trees, crazy how early it is! We aren't doing farmer's market this year, trying to focus on the homestead as much as possible. Where are you located in Michigan again? We could trade fall gold raspberry plants for a couple bushels of your Pink Pearls, those sound really good! Do you have an email so we can be in touch better?

Aaarrrrrg! I feel your pain having " my" loss last year! I was tempted to share my story but won't --- I don't want to minimize your hurt. I was encouraged for you in watching on 2 points: there is two of you working wonderfully together( reminds me of Eccl. 4:9 " two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.", and this point--- the roots of your plants are well established and the plants ( top growth) will rebound quickly. A final point: I really like your fix- looks great!!

Good timing for this - it is a rainy morning, so I get a chance for reflection........ I've done my part in practicing the art of the ant( Proverbs 6:6-11) on the little homestead, feeling blessed in my efforts ,yet sometimes my peace opportunities challenged by my over reactive " anxious" moments when a pest, or blight appears on the scene------ so a nice reminder from Matthew 6 with my paraphrase " I've done my best, hang the rest- chill!! Let Him......... Thank you.

As a child I was raised in cities: Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, etc.and there was some benefit and nice neighbor relations to be sure but I marveled at wildlife. On my own I chose( 45 years plus ago) to live in the country and every year grew trees( fruit) gardens, etc. and I must confess I still marvel everytime a seed or crowns or grafts grow upon my efforts. I was reminded of this watching your video- congrats and thanks for sharing!

Yes, you should be able to. It may not rise as much. I use a cup or two of white flour in the recipe to give it a good texture.
