I'm learning on this lathe daily. Seems underpowered already. Wouldn't turning on an extension be even harder?
@BitsandWood11 сағат бұрын
I think it depends on what you're turning. Most of what we do is smaller diameter and it doesn't seem underpowered for that. I do change the speed with the belts sometimes.

I've got a Neptune, not a fan. I got my first 3D printer 4 months ago or so and love the hobby so much, but it is my 2nd least favorite of the 7 I've had in the past 4 months. My Bambu X1C is my favorite, hands down, followed by my A1.

I have an upgrade for the ol MS170 that although admittedly not cheap, is certainly a game changer. Order the Tungsten Carbide bar & Chain from Australia. (Well the chain is TC but conventional bars wont fit it so it comes with its own bat) Ive been using mine for quite a while and so far still plenty sharp. If anyone's interested ill go out and read the bar for the name of the company & ill know because ill have a notification in my phone that someone replied.

I don’t have any use for the term. When I hear someone say “DIY” I cringe and usually exit the conversation or move on to the next video. It has the connotation to me of a toddler tying his own shoes for the first time, except I have a little more respect for the toddler because he intends to eventually be able to do it well, as well as cultivate a thousand other useful skills , and because he is a toddler my expectations were already pretty low. When a grown man says he did something himself I think “great, you’re a 39 year old man; that’s what’s expected of you.” “Why are we talking about it, and why do you need to construct a persona around just doing regular man shit?

Bad Axe makes some great saws and I am sure I will own one soon. BTW if you are needing more than 2 1/2" in a dovetail saw I would love to know what you are building. Tenons, well that is different. Best of luck!

@andrewderocle2 ай бұрын
I run 210 in mine I'm confident 270 can be done.... the issue I had is hook style. There's 2 part numbers 1 ends in "OAO" This hook is for standard threads t69- t90... then there's 1 ending in "BAO". This one's for larger threads. I haven't tried 270 tho. I'm getting 8mm max, between stitches 210 on top, 135 bobbin My lu563 is subclass 3 ( no reverse) hope this helps.
