He's speaking from a martial arts stand point.That would not work well in the ring because that forward movement is a easy target as well.Street fighting that can apply well in the ring not so much.

Michael seems like a phenomenal teacher. So many people who are at the very top % of their respective field, just don’t have the patience for it. He displays not only patience, but a genuine love for teaching others.
