Great video!!! Just a heads up. TALK TO ME was acquired by A24 not made by. For example A24 was 1/2 production company’s and the distributor for MOONLIGHT(2016). Where A24 was only the distribution company for talk to me. 7:12 to 7:42.

Yes! You're correct it wasn't made by them. However, I did state and give credit to RackaRacka the creators behind Talk To Me. What I meant to explain was that A24 *helped* them distribute the film. But normally when distributors such as Universal Studios, Warner Bros, etc. When they aquire any film they normally have the last say on the final version of the film before its released to theaters. But A24 was the only one to give them the go ahead on their final cut of the film. Thanks for clarifying that tho!

I would put NEON in the same category like this is what makes you excitied to go the cinema and why people like myself overall prefer foreign movies over mainstream American movies because you will get something different more innovative more exciting to watch I just hope they dont sell out become mainstream or get bought by some big corporation and get rid of what made them special to begin with
@kurtispeak

Yes!! Totally agree with you, Neon is definitely up there or even I’d say surpassing A24 right now. Foreign films are such hidden gems. I always assume a foreign film will be great no matter what I decide to watch

@@JEBLego we can get into "valid" opinions all we want, but it's not like we're gonna agree on anything, you're not gonna agree with why I say it's bad and I'm not gonna agree with why you say it's good. I've seen all sorts of movies, from oldest to newest, from highly popular films to some of the most hated, and I've seen enough of these movies to know they are nothing like what people are trying to make them out to be.

Being someone who is probably older than most of your viewers, I love the tv & movies from the 50's - 80's. The movies, especially from the 70's, are almost impossible to find anywhere. I refuse to pay for a streaming service that doesn't carry at least a selection of them. I'd almost rather stick with cable, which is my streaming for news and basic cable channels. OIther than that KZbin, Pluto & Tubi work well, (all of which are free) and are all I need.

The companies made it clear they don't care what people want and will gladly milk them dry while producing absolutely awful content. I wish people would just vote with their wallet instead of just paying to be exploited and hoping something changes.

Since 2019, I have completely stopped going to movie theatres. There are three main reasons: 1. Ticket prices have gone through the roof. It's much, much cheaper to watch a streaming service. 2. It's very inconvenient (driving, parking, washroom breaks). 3. It's less comfortable than watching at home on my sofa. Movie theatres have one main advantage: a very large screen with powerful surround sound. But that's not enough to overcome the above three reasons.

You're a fool if you think that Netflix having a monopoly and a monopsony would, ultimately, result in lower prices for consumers, higher pay for employees and talent, and a better experience for everyone.

Well yeah. Streaming is based on artificial competition. In an actual competitive market, prices drop to compete with another product. But what is happening here is companies compete with buying exclusivity. They aren’t making a nicer shirt, they are buying out certain types of shirts so nobody else can make them. So if you want that type of shirt, you have nowhere else to go.

I don't think streaming is the future of home entertainment. It's not profitable and never will be, unless the subscription costs increase, the volume of content is reduced and the quality is reduced. As streaming becomes less appealing due to the above adjustments, then streaming will start to fail as consumers switch off.

Problem is there are too many and cable is actually cheaper so why not pirate again? Hell, you get ads on streaming and pirating, only pirating is free. So Arrrrr me mayteys Everybody got greedy and wanted their piece of the streaming pie thinking we just liked streaming. Nope. I'll be glad when it all falls down. It's a cute little house of cards they built.

Yes, well it is capitalistic evolution. Entertainment is a money making business that Hulu & other channels have figured out how to kill us with repetitive advertisements until we buckle and pay more to do away with ads. It is a manipulation. Television to Cable to Streaming channels....what next. Apocalypse.

Kurtis Peak, you are angry because your mom’s Netflix you can’t receive. The industry is cracking down on policy regarding to sharing accounts. Tell you a story: a few years ago my neighbor offered me $15 to share my internet account. I said no! At the time I was paying $70 a month for internet. I pay for 3 streaming services, the other I won’t stream. I don’t watch movies, modern movies I don’t care for. These mergers will create mega companies. They are cracking down on piracy and will prosecute. I just pay for what I watch and I find free stuff. You are young and need to grow up. The reason why things will cost more-production cost has increased. That writer’s strike will be expensive to streaming services. The large companies will buy out the little companies. Your Netflix might someday be bought by another service. Your attitude really needs some adjustment.

I still think for shows and movies Netflix and for live channel like news and sports and variety shows and videos KZbin is best. Ans theatres should be always there in its place. It will be better if they is only 2 or 3 apps onlys.

Honestly subscribing to only a few platforms is equal to if not more than some cable packages, and that’s not just with the top ad free versions. If you were to sub to all the streamers, you are hemorrhaging cash at that rate. That’s way more than cable, which most standard packages are only like 40-70 bucks.

Yap... no more shared password free netfix for me.. fuck... well their service was really starting to go downhill anyway. My family is no longer going to subscribe to them, and I hope every streaming service that I have watching for free threw a shared password goes bankrupt! I usually end up watching reruns anyway.
