I don't think there are many similarities. Yes, some words sound very similar, because we are neighbours and Russian language influence has been very high due to several reasons, but don't forget that we're using a completely different alphabet.

When saying in this instance: zvaigznes ir dzeltana krasa"(or for all mentioned colors), you say it means "stars are in the yellow color, why would the grammar doesn't say instead: zvaigznes ir krasa dzeltens, restructuring the sentence as " stars are of a yellow color" sort of.....?? And why "ir" doesn't change form from a singular to a plural ?? oh, and the grammar is bizarre for masculine nouns to use "s" for singular and "i" for plural, why not do the opposite to simplify things ?

Because thats the correct sentence structure in Latvian language. You can say: "Stars are yellow" "zvaigznes ir dzeltenas" "Stars are in the yellow color" "zvaigznes ir dzeltenā krāsā" But if you write "zvaigznes ir krāsā dzeltenā" then it translates as "stars are in color yellow" same as in English, it doesn't sounds right.

Good info for sure, it's appreciated a lot !!! But what about places to stay for new people moving in to work and live there ?? I mean, like a single bedroom appartment, are there any sectors in the city(I'm a Canadian citizen who speaks fluently both French and English only) for foreign workers to get settled up and work ?? I won't have a car so I'll have to use public transportation and It's not for tomorrow though........just getting in touch on what Latvia has to offer. Thank you in advance Miss. Ciau !

Čau, čau! In Latvia, as in lot of other countries much depends on your money. Your settlement here will depend on your work experience. If you have your own business or you are self employed and you can live on your money from your own income then awesome, if not, you might struggle here. For most of work you will need fluent Latvian and Russian language and really it takes time to learn them. At least a year for each. Some people find job just knowing English, but it would be something like Bolt or Wolt drive or places where you don't need to speak to customers.

Its super cheap (right now its 30€ for a whole month) to use public transport. Also we got bike roads and they are great if you do cycle.

Can't comment on where to live untill you won't know where you will work and how much you will get. Riga doesn't have sectors, but have regions. They are called different names. As its a small city, you can get to center from nearly everywhere max in 40min by public transport. If you live and work in center then you can walk it.

Generally if noun ends with -e, -a (as in rakstniece, pārdevēja) it indicates that its a singular feminine noun. If noun ends with -s (as in policists) it indicates that its a singular masculine noun. If a noun ends with -es, -as (as in rakstnieces, pārdevējas) it indicates that its a plural feminine noun. If a noun ends with i (as in policisti) it indicates that its a plural masculine noun.

The list is endless...all nouns in Latvian language are either masculine or feminine and you will learn as you learn Latvian language, but yes, there are some grammar rules, which touches most of nouns, but there are exceptions to it. Got a question miss. Though I'm sorry my keyboard doesn't support the "special characters" in it. You said "simti" means 100 so "devini semti" means 900, "devin-desmit" means 90 and devini is 9. If thousand is "tukstosi", shouldn't it been: "devini tukstosi devini simti devin-desmit devini " 9000 900 90 9 From what I can deduce from the board there on which is written: "devini tukstosi devin-desmit devin" would mean: 9099 and not 9999. 9000 90 9 Please people, correct me if I'm wrong. I can count in japanese since they use similar method of calculation, but with a touch of roman counting. Like you guys, once you know from one to ten, all you need to learn are the names for houndred, thousand, ten thousand.....I remember only the houndred. For instance: ich ni san chi go roku sichi hachi kyu ju 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 So any number that preceeds multiplies JU. ni ju is 2 x10= 20 ni ju ich is 21. ni ju ni is 22 and sichi ju hachi is 78. Same here for hyaku which is 100 kyu hyaku kyu ju kyu= 999. 900 99 9 9x100 10x9 and one time 9. But still, I am very impressed by your work. 🤪🤪🤪🤪

Video related jobs, like what? Give me some examples. In Latvia it is highly difficult to find a job if you can't speak Latvian and Russian. Most people work for Bolt or Wolt delivery services, some for international companies where you don't need language and knowing English is enough. For most of jobs you will need to learn language at least to A2 language level so you can speak to customers and your team.

The Latvian language has caught my attention for a relatively long time and I also learned how to pronunce each letter online. However, I met a problem in distinguishing the letter Ģ and the letter Ķ. Then I went to ask Wikipedio and it said that /ʄ/ is for the letter Ģ while /c/ for the letter Ķ. But to be honest, this was not helpful at all...

Pronunciation of letters Ģ and Ķ will come with time and practice. Still come Latvians pronounce Ķ as T or K and Ģ as G. While learning different words and getting used to the sound of Latvian language, you will able to distinguish and pronanuce them correctly or at least super similar to how it is. Language takes training and time.
