This same recipe given to me from my wedding shower in 1962. You can make most any cake with this recipe by changing the flavoring. The icing is the one I also use for my coconut cake with rave reviews. ( Betty Crocker icing recipe ) this icing is delicious with a devil’s food cake too!

I cooked some cranberries this morning. My recipe called for 3/4 cup water & 1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice & 1 cup sugar then cooked the same way. So good.

I agree with you on the cranberry sauce being homemade, I thought you might be interested in the recipe that I grew up on: it was raw and just pureed in the blender: one bag cranberries, with a 20 oz can unsweetened crushed pineapple and 1 overripe banana. ( And honey to taste) This does seem to taste sweeter the day after it's made.

I used to make granola bars but haven’t in a while. Maybe I’ll try this recipe!

I use a very similar recipe when we make granola bars a lot of The Times we add race Krispie to them gives it that little extra crunch.
