How is it that you are still able to work material that was first pored
@MrYoucandoityourself2 күн бұрын
Hi, this material gets harder after 30-40 minutes if you’re using cold water. If you’re not familiar with leveling and need more time for finish work, use a Mapei Novoplan SP, you will get extra around 20 minutes.

It never occurred to me to use the concrete grinder to smooth up the plywood floor. Do You find it works well compared to a heavy belt sander?
@MrYoucandoityourself6 күн бұрын
In my view, the grinder is superior because there’s significant chipping on the plywood, along with nails, screws, and staples. It's quite easy to damage sandpaper when using the belt sander. When I use a turbo blade, I can prepare the subfloor quickly and at a lower cost! - Turbo blade grinding wheel 7 inch - amzn.to/3XOeVj4 - Dewalt angle grinder 7 inch - amzn.to/3F8jZY6 - Dust Shroud for 7 Inch Angle Grinder - amzn.to/3OGatP0

Thanks for the video. I think this process will help to make a smaller region flat but not necessarily level. This may still be suitable for tile installs but I think the approach with lasers and tripods can ensure more consistent results and true level.

Can I use self leveler even if floor is level just to make look nice (garage floor ) or if there another cheaper option ?
@MrYoucandoityourself16 күн бұрын
Hi, good question. It is not so simple to apply a self-levelling compound. Need to remove all debris with a grinder, fill up all cracks, and then put primer and a skim coat of compound. After need, put silicone on top for water resistance. Also, it should be warm inside the garage, or the self-levelling compound will not dry properly. Also, here is another method, it's not my project, but maybe it will help you to get design - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYu3dYx6j9iMfJo

Did you have to primer again for the second pour?
@MrYoucandoityourself16 күн бұрын
Every application of self leveling compound needs to put primer.

Whats you preferred leveler to go over wood subfloor?
@MrYoucandoityourself19 күн бұрын
I am using only Mapei products for leveling. Very important primer or other product for better bonding wood subfloor with self leveling compound. Mapei give it for us and this material easy to use. Also price reasonable. For bonding self leveling compound I am using primer T or planipatch with planipatch acrylic. After this application you can use any Mapei self leveling compound. Last few jobs I used Mapei Novoplan SP.

It seems like you do floor levelling on most of your jobs, which is good. My question is: how do you sell levelling to customers? I find that nobody wants to pay to have it done. It is hard enough to sell minor patching in my case.

Hi MrYoucandoityourself, What thickness cork you are using in this project? And any standard when choosing cork mats (like strength etc etc)
@MrYoucandoityourselfАй бұрын
Hi, I used 1/4". STC(sound transition class) rating 66-68 Db. Most of the restrictions on sound protection are within this rate. Thanks!

@@MrYoucandoityourself Hi I got further question, for height control I need to use 1/2 inch cork mat. Just being afraid that when heavy loads sit on the mat it will "sink" or generate pit permanently. In your opinion, will that happen if mat has reliable quality?
