When I played Mega Man 2: The Power fighters (on the Mega Man Anniversary Collection game) and when I beat the game as Bass, I was literally surprised to see who I thought I saw in Bass' ending.

Compared to the original games, I love how in these ones they actually play with the Yellow Devil's blob monster nature in much more fun, creative and less repetitive patterns.

Why is gutsman's weakness always explosives? It was bombman's weapon in the original Mega-man and now it's the napalm bomb in this

Sturdy rocks are commonly destroyed with extreme blunt force like explosives as cutting forces are somewhat harder to use. In fact, Guts Man was created as a civil engineer robot for construction and Bomb Man it's for demolitions, and dynamite it's common material to bring down buildings and rocks.

Protoman's uncharged shots are easily the largest, his beat shield is really useful and dash is just right, no gimmicks. I wish Capcom made more than 2 of these games.
