How did you remove the shutters? I’m in FL also. I did the PPE bypass and that was a huge help. My transmission temps had gotten up to 230 while driving on the beach and I swapped that thermostat immediately.

You can fix the clunk by buying some rubber spacing materials and inserting them in between the springs. Spring things. Easy install.

Good to hear that a little bit of cupping ("ramping") is considered normal on AT tires mounted in the front. At about 8500 miles on my Cooper AT3s (vehicle is a GX460 with IFS and full time 4WD), I noticed some ramping on the outside tread blocks of the front tires. Just rotated them today. I've been worried that I'll need to do a tie rod or ball joint replacement in the near future... and that may still be the case, but it sounds like 5k mile tire rotations will help mitigate this wear.
@automotiveandmore
@automotiveandmore Ай бұрын
@surfordie82 any worn out steering parts will definitely add premature wear to your tires, so get those checked out. Other than that, if your alignment is good and you rotate your tires every 5k, this way you will be golden. There is nothing more you can do other than play with air pressure a bit. Usually, about 20% above OEM recommendation does provide a little less wear to the tires. Especially in the front edges.

Excellent video, the Dexos Certification is all about GM making money, bottom line! Lake Speed Jr.'s video was 110% accurate as you highlighted, best example is Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, versus Pennzoil Platinum. I have used Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 since it first came out, and I didn't care if it had the Dexos Certification on it, or not. At one point, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum was dexos certified, as well as Pennzoil Platinum. I spoke with one of the Lubrication Engineers at Shell, and he confirmed why they stopped "buying" the Dexos Certification for Ultra Platinum, because of customer's such as myself who believe in the quality of the oil, and don't need a label to tell us what to buy. Again, believe in the science, not the marketing! Appreciate you making this video, take care, cheers!

Given the owners manual recommends the use of only top-tier diesel and how scarce access to such diesel is not only in my area in California, but also nationally, lam wondering what other Duramax LZO owners use to fuel their trucks.
