4Runner exterior mods. Cheap and easy with a big impact.

I was stuck on getting a Blue 4Runner until I saw the Magnetic Gray. I let 3 great deals go by. I was offered 8.6% and 10.52% OFF MSRP but the packages/accessories didn’t quite match what I wanted. Surfing today I found a Lunar Rock 4Runner but I haven’t seen it live yet. You video has convinced me I could learn to like this color. It does have the bronze wheels and I would have preferred black. With my luck it will get sold before I get up to see it. Thanks for posting the video.

Are you in Florida. I'd love to see the bronze wheels on a linar rock in person. Maybe we can iven trade if we both like what the other has. I love Lunar Rock. I had a MGM Tacoma, but i have to say Lunar Rock beats it, in my opinion.

I have a 23 TRD ORP in Lunar rock….. love it, did two quick break in oil changes lots of metal, my advice is change it quick for the first three, plan to have this vehicle at least 20 years.

Quick oil changes are a must for break-in. I always do my first at around 1k and 5k after on every new vehicle.

a second layer of Laminex might look cool but it cuts the light output so your result is cool looking color but less bright. your rig looks nice that color and the mods you did are really tasteful and look good. Stock tire size gives you best power off the line.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I was actually worried about the light out put with the 2 layers of yellow tint as well, but it seems to not have affected it. They are still very bright and illuminate a whole lot.

@@automotiveandmore its about 8 percent less throw which doesnt matter if you're using them for looks just matters driving in rain ect.

Looks great other than the raptor lights... feel like its trying to hard to be "bro" and raptor wanna be but to each his own. Not a fan of the predator steps either but again to each their own. def think the bumper valances/cover look better black or paint matched rther than silver. Wheels are my favorite. are those nitto's heavy compared to stocks or larger than stock? notice slight performance loss?

Fair enough. I personally love the raptor lights. The predator steps o will agree that im not the biggest fan of them either but they came with the vehicle when we purchased it. About the Nittos I have a 25k mile review on them planned. Spoiler is that im not the biggest fan of them hor how pricey they are. I fint them loud and they have a harsh ride. They currently are the OEM tire size but i plan on going to 285 for the next set.

@@automotiveandmore cool. yeah I missed the part you said stock tire size. nopt a huge fan of the nitto's either since their hybrid but i feel like the lugs a a lot closer than some AT's. plus theyre not 3 peak rated. ran the K02's for a a little bit and liked them but sold that truck shortly after. On another truck I have the wildpeaks and they are bad ass. 20K and look brand new. Downside is they're super heavy. Really loving these 4 runners theyre so reliable and you cant beat the capabilities.

@brianvera2353 im in FL and KO2s are a little slick on wet roads. I will either gamble and try the new KO3s that have more sipping for rain or stick to ole reliable and get a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs.

I think for the off-roading here in Florida they arent that much of a problem. We have mud and sand, no rock crawling.

Nah, the wife loves 4Runners and G-Wagons, but she can only afford one of those, lol. The 4runner has been the perfect grocery getter for her and the kid. It's still a tough vehicle off-road vehicle, but it is much smaller and practical around town compared to my AT4 Sierra. I do wish it got the fuel mileage me diesel Sierra gets, though, lol. Still i think it's a great wifey vehicle. It wouldn't be my choice for a daily.

@@automotiveandmore But the 4 Runnner is not a soccer mom's vehicle, As the Highlander or Rav 4 is. There is nothing affordable about the Toyota 4 Runner.

@FJB1669 the 4runner being just under 50k is pretty affordable these days. They seem to be super cheap to mod as well with all the aftermarket competition. Here in FL, it's very common to see 4runners as soccer mom vehicles. She would probably consider a bigger SUV like Z71 Tahoe but not a smaller one.
