I can 100% relate to "sitting with my queerness." I have a book recommendation that you'll relate to. Eddie & Alan is written by black gay author Anthony Amiewalan. It sheds light on the complexities of relationships between men, the fluidity of sexuality, and what happens when the lines are blurred. It also examines trauma when growing up as a queer person.

The first outfit (with the shirt untied) was so cool !! Way too loud for me but if I saw someone wearing this in the street I’d be like heart face emoji 🥰 Well they were all nice. The first was my fave though.

Thanks for sharing. But it may also be that some of your beliefs about what constitutes and man and woman and how they should dress or look is rooted in some outdated stereotypes. It might be helpful to challenge those beliefs through cognitive behavioural therapy or similar practice. Essentially we should live in a world where a man or woman can dress however they wish. In many ways we are already there but your own internalised prejudices may be negatively effecting you. Even your own categorisation as ‘non binary’ may be a source of your dysphoria as you see yourself somehow different from ‘woman’. Liberation looks more like not buying into stereotypes for me.

This video really pointed at internal questions I don’t know if I ever considered and I thank you for that. 💚 So much of my relationship with all the intersections of myself and my identities feels like completely uncharted territory. I’ve thought about how certain things make me feel and how these aspects influence the way I’ve navigated certain spaces but I don’t think I’ve ever really considered how far I wanted to deconstruct those dynamics and how it affects me. I don’t really know if I understand much of who I am in regards to the intersection of my identities, my traumas, and where that is headed in terms of my worldly experience. I’ve been trying to think more intentionally about who I am and what I want in life but I think I’ve neglected focusing on myself in regards to being present for myself in every stage of life how that is informing the current moment. Maybe it’s questions I just haven’t been able to put into concise words but thank you for this space and allowing in your vulnerability to encourage an exploration of myself within my own.

So interesting how rash guards can be worn as NB swimwear when it's considered a common/modest swimwear in Korea and popular for spf coverage, too.

I recently wore a bright yellow binder (swim friendly, and a size larger) with some nice blue board shorts I bought second hand, and I honestly felt the most comfortable I've ever felt at the beach!!

This is something I think often on when I associate times of trauma with what I wore (if the memory is there). I definetly believe as a AFAB person it’s triggering coinciding with trauma. But then I don’t want to uplift the masculinity/particularly because of who those traumas were cause by which is also a conflict. So then I’m trying to just navigate on emotion and mood and not associate as many looks so deep but base it more so off of comfort tbh.

I appreicate you and this reflection you have shared. I have had similar thoughts/reflections with myself about what queerness means to me, and the connection between my queerness, blackness, and my other identities. And just hearing someone else talk about it and knowing that I'm not alone in some of these feelings is so nice.

This really resonates with me. My queerness is the most important part of my identity and as someone who has also experienced trauma, the fall out manifests in how I feel about myself with respect to presentation, trust, and how we I see the world. Thank you for sharing this with us.
