I think that Tyson Fury and Sugar Hill trained properly for Usyk as a southpaw. It must be noted while Tyson F. did not do so well against the last leftie he experienced, Sugar Hill was not his trainer. With the way they both talked prior to the fight, they did not know what to do when they reached the 8th round because both did not expect that to happen. Most importantly, they both did not know how to handle a charging Usyk in the later rounds. As Peter Fury basically said in an interview sometime ago, "What is the f*c*i*g point on instructing someone on something if that someone has not been trained on it?" I agree with that statement. While Sugar Hill told T. Fury to essentially hold his ground against a highly quick straight-ahead Usyk, how was that possible considering he was never trained to respond to this type of situation and do just that. Imagine a person goes out to hunt rabbits and he/she honestly expects to handle rabbits that run away from that person. However what happens if one or two rabbits start to charge that person instead? Considering that the one or two rabbits are small targets and are quick, unless that person has been trained for that scenario and can respond accordingly, that person will definitely suffer adverse consequences. None of this would have happened if Peter Fury had been the coach. I respect Sugar Hill and the fact he knows how to make boxers more physical. However he is not well-rounded and he cannot provide the proper structure at that championship elite level. Last year revealed just that when Hill's protege, cruiserweight Lawrence Okolie, lost. While there is nothing wrong with losing, the fact is Okolie was not at all supposed to lose that fight. Tyson F. should have taken cue from that. Peter F. stated clearly that the Usyk-Fury fight was Fury's fight to lose and he would not lose as long as he brought his A game. Obviously no fighter can do that if his/her team is not in proper sync. Team Tyson Fury's team's shambles and lack of disciplined structure cost Tyson the championship fight, plain and simple. All Peter F. has done is express common sense about everything in the last 15 years. Apparently common sense is not common knowledge. If Tyson F. could find a way to get back to his roots so that he does not have to start from scratch, he would benefit from the common sensical and expert training that he would need to be properly prepared. While Ben Davison could help him, Davison is a defensive coach in as much as Sugar Hill is an offensive coach. He is not that well-rounded. More importantly, he is coaching AJ so leaving AJ for Tyson Fury would not be perceived as really ethical. In any event, Davison has a good thing going with AJ so let him stay where he is. Peter Fury has stated a number of time that if a boxer is in it for knockouts or to win by points that he/she is in the wrong business. He has stated that a professional boxer has to give the best account of himself/herself for each round in all the scheduled rounds. I agree with that statement as well. If knockouts happen, they happen but no fighter should train for that. As he stated, not only is that too risky and fool hardly, it actually takes away from the Sweet Science Of Boxing. Boxing is not "Tough Man Contest" but it doubtful Sugar Hill understand that. At the same time, if a boxer is so focused on winning each and every round, he/she will end up losing the fight. There are times a boxer has to focus on surviving in a round so that he/she can do much better later. There are also times that in the early and middle rounds, a boxer has to focus on landing body punches even it means scoring less points in the early and middle rounds. Apparently Tyson F. and his team did not understand this as he landed far less body punches than Usyk. When Hughie F. and Savannah Marshall came up a little short against Parker and Shields respectively in those title fights, I thought believed that really nothing could have done differently. I really felt that Parker and Shields were the better boxers at that time. However I still refuse to believe that Usyk is the better boxer. Despite the dismal and confused state of Tyson's team, Tyson F. still almost won that fight. I honest believe that if Peter Fury provided the coaching, the result will be different. Hopefully Tyson Fury will take that into consideration. Any past issues should be that only. Peter Fury has understood all the logic in the foregoing. Tyson Fury can and should benefit from his experience.

He kissed the cross at the beginning and in the corner. And when the corner man moves (the corner is always a conjested place with team members surrounding the fighter) you can see to the left of Usyk, people ringside could see straight through the ropes and see everything.

I remember watching AJ/Usyk and about half way through the fight Usyk suddenly had a renewed spring in his step and I said at the time I think he’s had a ‘redbull’as he came out a different man. Just before AJ was all over him. It’s interesting you mentioned this as I have thought previously that he was slipped something half way through his fights. I guess they test after fights though so maybe it is just a second wind. That said Usyk is a phenomenal fighter. And the fight was the hardest he’d had and great to watch.

'We are fighting men' is not tactical advice. It's a stupid, mindless slogan. If Bully Boy John wants to make a total twat of himself by stomping around Saudi Arabia screaming this nonsense in the face of anyone who looks at him the wrong way, that is one thing. But screaming it at the top of his lungs and obscuring what may have been invaluable tactical advice from a master of the game is unforgiveable. There were times Sugar Hill had to shout at Tyson to catch his attention because of the racket coming out of Bully Boy's pie hole. If Tyson has any sense he'll leave this embarrasing old fool at home for the rematch.

No he did not cheat. He kissed a crucifix. The ref cheated - Not stopping Tyson for hugging and holding on. Not saying anything about waist band on his shorts being so high. Not letting Usyk finish Fury off. Pushing Usyks arm back at one point indicating he was going to stop the fight. Then giving him a count of 8. (Ne slowest count in boxing). Dont think they will rematch, what ever they say. October would be to soon anyhow in my opinion. Usyk should retire at the top Fury should fight AJ, give the fans what they want. What ever Tyson Fury does he should not have John Fury near the training camp or his corner.

John Fury was an embarrassment to Tyson and the Fury family. He always has to be the centre of attention and takes the limelight of his son. He never made it in boxing so he tries to be the big man at every press conference. After he headbutted that young lad I lost all respect for him. Fury lost because Uysk was the better fighter. Simple as. The fight was really close, in terms that most of the rounds were highly contested. However, the reality is that Fury only won four rounds: 4, 5, 6 and 12, that’s it. I heard the things John Fury was advising in the corner, I really can’t criticise him for it, because there was nothing wrong with what he was saying. However, having so many voices shouting over each other in the corner is not the best.

Think you could of maybe give fury the 3rd and the 8th either way I agree with most of what you are saying
@CymruCelt016 күн бұрын
@@DonDaDa02 when I watched the fight live that was how I scored it. You know the score, you go back and watch it again and sometimes you score it slightly differently. But I didn’t change anything. Round 3 was well contested, but Usyk’s work rate and cleaner shots and number of shots were definitely higher than Fury’s. A lot of Fury’s shots were either deflected, or missed completely. 4, 5 and 6, 💯 were Fury’s rounds. Round 7 could have been scored a draw, but Usyk just about won it in the last 25-30 seconds. His work rate and feints really were making Fury struggle. Round 8 was Usyk’s all the way, because if Fury was concerned in the previous round, it was Round 8 where he knew he was in serious trouble. As for Round 9, I firmly believe that should have been a TKO. I’ll be brutally honest here now, if I was advising Tyson, I’d tell him to forget the rematch and tell him to retire. His legs and punch resistance has gone. Fury impressed me in a lot of ways, whilst Usyk wasn’t at his best. Fury definitely won’t win the rematch with Usyk, and he should forget about fighting Joshua, because he’ll definitely get seriously hurt. Michael Watson had great punch resistance and look what happened to him. I don’t want the same thing happening to Fury. He’s done.
