I play this song a little differently. I actually followed the bass line for my chords. Also, I use a D# diminished for your high B7 and I play mostly at the 5th fret. Ending of first verses A, D, A, G#mi, F#mi, B7, E, E aug End verses... A, C#, F#mi, E, D, D# diminished, A, F#mi, B7, E, A, E aug Let me know what you think.

Great video, and congrats on your successful check ride! Did the DPE allow you to use that folder with the notes on it during the oral exam? And where did you get the laminated check lists that you referenced/showed at 7:37?
@bootiecothrantv
@bootiecothrantv 3 ай бұрын
@@Steve-kj9tx hey thanks. Yes, he did allow me to use that folder for reference, although I only need to reference it once or twice. My instructor suggested that, had I used it more often, he might’ve frowned upon it since it wasn’t an FAA official document. I made the checklist using Google sheets and had them laminated at the local FedEx. Copy store for about five dollars. It was a time-consuming process to get everything lined up and where I wanted it right, but it also helped engrain the various steps in my brain.

@@bootiecothrantv thanks for the reply! The DPE was probably impressed with your thoroughness and organization. Im just starting the PPL process, but I’m trying to develop good habits now and put together good study/prep materials as I learn so I won’t be overwhelmed at the end trying to cram

Great work Mr. Cothran, showing the world that us old guys still can!!! I wonder, have to put any thought and effort into pre-packing your blood stream with oxygen prior to one of these courses through breathing techniques? I use a couple different methods whether surfing big waves, recovering on the paddle back out, as well as for free diving. They can make a MASSIVE difference in your strength and longevity we've found. If you don't mind me saying, I start with a 6 second DEEP inhale through the nose, as deep as you can get, taking oxygen all the way into the diaphragm, then a 12 second slow exhale through the mouth. Do that for two minutes, or as long as you want, and you will feel a tiny bit light headed when you're ready to go, but that just means your blood is FULL UP with oxygen, and will greatly increase your abilities. We need all the help we can get at our age. Try it if you want, LMK if it helps. Recover with a 4 second inhale (nose), and a 6 second exhale through the mouth. It'll help slow your heart rate and make sure you have plenty of oxygen in your bloodstream for your muscles to burn. 10 bucks says it makes a HUGE difference for you! Aloha, a hui hou!

@@bootiecothrantv I got sold on it by a man named Mark Heely here in Hawaii, a local legend, big wave surfer, and I mean BIG WAVES. He said, "do as many pushups as you can in one shot, then breath up for 3 minutes and try it again". Even with your muscles already exhausted from the first go, I was able to increase the number by 20%. That was it for me, I've been doing it ever since, and having that extra O2 in my bloodstream has saved my life more than once... God bless Mr. Bootie, I hope to see more of your videos soon!!!
