It wasn't a High School, it was Roosevelt Franklin's Elementary School, and the early segments had him singing about the alphabet and days of the week

Very interesting, but I’m not surprised. I think this happens in the industry all the time. I hear stories about rock ‘n’ roll musicians in the 60s getting cheated out of their money as well…. There’s another video as well about Carroll O’Connor from all the family getting cheated. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6uXk5Voipudm7Msi=jkNJPo2NEQF9Llwz

There is NO such thing as "Black music" anymore than there is "White music". Music has NOTHING to do with skin color or race whatsoever! Stop gatekeeping music fashions! Music is created from the minds of people. Music is something we as humans make. Although it may be true that music, such as jazz, was made by people with dark/brown skin in the past, jazz music was not created by skin color but by the mind. Gatekeeping a music fashion to a certain "race" makes you a racist bigot. End of story!

It's a great song. I think in any artistic creation a lot of previous work and people go into its creation, and not everyone is credited. It is really a problem with intellectual property rights and capitalism. It's an unfortunate dispute. But it is good to know the story of the song and sure it is a pity that it did not work out as a massive hit for Lori, but this more often than not is how things go. Someone's first album a hit album with a hit record? Rare. I am very sorry though to hear about the abusive relationship she was in.

Wow so sad! Such an amazing voice. But she is incredibly and im glad she is recognized now for what she truly is. She actually make those songs hit, because her voice was what draw my attention back where those songs were released in the 90s!! ill hope you see this comment Martha! Just amazing!

My ancestor had no choice. He either wore the gray or sit by and let his house and family be destroyed by northern invaders. He was piss poor and didn’t own slaves.

And let's not forget to mention that Elvis has sold over 1 billion records worldwide that says something all on its own and that was done in '83 when he's inducted in the Hall of Fame And he's also inducted into several Hall of fames not taken away. From And I'm not taking anything away from Little Richard. He was awesome as well his performance and sound

Oh give it up. Rock and roll was not created by African people. Africans in america had no accomplishment in music except copying the songs they heard and copying the protestant hymn book. Just in special cases the beat was faster. yet the songs were no good. Bill haley made rock popular to American, pleaee drop the white word, kids and canadians . birgubf ri di with blues, boogie, or jazz. Rocj is just acceleration tones mimicking human acceleration tones in the sprit called excitment. Blacks contributed very little to rock and roll and still don't . Just tryingto take the credit.

I remember it well. I was in the third grade and the teacher got mad because I would sing some of the songs in class. I asked her why can't we sing the rock n roll songs I hear on the radio instead of the song they were teaching us in music class. I think it was because of racism.

There is no singular figure that invented rock n roll. I think the most important cause of rock n roll is technology like guitars getting amplified, people like fender and les paul, the introduction of things like drums to country music, multi tracking. Also bands after ww2 became much smaller. Making their music much more punchier.

Yeah, but who was the mastermind behind all of that tomfoolery? Who ran the record label that called all the shots? Who signed the contracts? Who greenlit the songs/music videos to be sent out into the world? See, we have to start asking and answering these questions because if it weren't for the PRESIDENT of the record label, the songs wouldn't have seen the light of day. We're talkin' the early '90s when everything had to go through the major label system. Anyhow, who ran Sony Records? Who ran Λr¡sta Records? Those two individuals NEVER get called out and they allowed it to happen. I never blame Milli Vanilli, especially after seeing how J. Lo was treated. Sure, J. Lo gets dogged out, but not as severely as Milli Vanilli. Here it is over 30 years later and Mr. Fab Morvan is still apologizing for what he was hired and paid to do. J. Lo ain't issued _nann_ apology and she's been lip-syncing for decades. Circling back to Ms. Wash, it's like "Who do y'all think y'all are?" Like, this is so disrespectful to me. See how slick the label was. Ms. Wash gave them the full demo and they turned around and used the whole damn thing. Should've been like "Imma give y'all 20 seconds of my demo because I know how y'all get down." I hope Ms. Wash settlement was millions of dollars because this sh¡t is for the birds. Shout out to Ms. Wash for sounding so bomb on her demo and being able to hit it right on the spot sounding exactly like her demo.

I love this so much! And I love Margaret Hamilton, both as the Wicked Witch of the West and even more as herself, and from what little I've seen and heard of Mr. Rogers, I like him, too. Growing up, I watched The Wizard of Oz, and I thought the Witch was intimidating, but I wasn't absolutely scared senseless. Though I completely understand why other kids were terrified of her. In the last few years, though, as I learned more of how the film was made, I was beyond delighted to discover that not only was Margaret a kind person, she was also a great support for Judy Garland, very motherly, and they stayed friends long after the film. God knows Judy needed a mother figure like her, too, especially considering how her birth mother treated her. In fact, Judy said she had a hard time being scared of Margaret because of what a sweet woman she was. Judy told Margaret years later, "You're my favorite witch!" Oh, my heart! 🥹🥹🥹🥹 I didn't grow up watching Sesame Street, but I knew of it. And not long after I discovered the Mr. Rogers episode with Margaret, I discovered the Sesame Street episode and watched clips of it, a 15 minute long video featuring all the Witch's scenes. While I can see how children would be scared by this episode, I found it an absolute delight! I know I'm speaking from the bias of seeing it as an adult, but seriously, I find it a shame that this episode was banned for 45 years! It was meant to show children that they can confront their fears, and it was done so fun and playfully, and really funny, and Margaret Hamilton was an awesome person in real life! Though her transforming from the Witch into a normal looking old lady was a little creepy, her suddenly using her calm deep voice got me a bit, it's honestly creepier than her witchy voice. 😬😅 Anyway, since I recently discovered the Sesame Street video, sometimes I've been playing it on my phone while I'd be working, just as a feel good thing. And I like studying how everyone interacted with her, how she interacted with them, how the kids in that episode didn't seem to be scared at all, and just speculate what was going through everyone's minds as they made that episode, and how they got along. Since Margaret was such a kind person in real life, I can only imagine that the rest of the cast found her a joy to work with. It would have been an honor and a privilege to know her, I think, and I can't wait to meet her in Heaven one day. 🤗💙🕊️

Genuinely near or taught will speak volumes. Being genuinely close to someone or having been taught by them can greatly influence decisions, much like believing in an illness without seeking a cure, or choosing to heal instead of letting anger take over. It's easy to complicate things to make them sound impressive, but sometimes simplicity is key.
