BMW of North America has extended the warranty on the front grille upper/lower active air flaps for up to 15 years/150,000 miles. It's BMW SIB 01-12-19. This is for G01, G02, G12, G30, and G32 models on certain 2017, 2018, and 2019. Do a search for the bulletin because the production date will matter. The warranty will not cover damage caused by outside influence (Example: If wire harness is damaged from rodents chewing on them or if debris damages that flaps.

heck my flaps don't ever seem to open. while doing a similar repair just now, i actually saw dead bugs and stuff on the radiator fins, so i know they opened at one time or another. but now, even after putting in in Sport+ and driving it for 20 minutes, i can't even get them to open. perhaps they are better removed anyway. i've already had a service to replace the Lowers a couple years ago.

Hey Bob, thanks for info. Bought a 2016 750i. Had to replace high pressure fuel pump and spark plugs but i got another drive train malfunction and misfire. Turned it off and on and it went into neutral. Turned off for a few minutes. Started it and was able to drive back to dealership so they can fix it for real this time. However do you have any insight?

Hey bob my 325xi got misfires on cylinders 456 and i checked i can see im going to need a new vcg soon but apart from that i changed the spark plugs and it had seemed to go away after clearing codes. I started driving around and when using the sport mode or the steptronic transmission while i shift manually (in an automatic) the check wngine will pop up and start blinking then turn solid and after a while it goes away. Lets keep in mind that I know for a fact i need new O2 sensors and new Catalytic converters (will be getting used cats off a part out bmw). After i changed the spark plugs ans the check engine light went out i started driving and it felt more responsive a lot quicker than how slugush it used to be, after attempting to use sport mode and steptronic transmission the check engine light comes on ans the car shakes at a stop pretty rough. I changed the plugs but havent changed the coils any idea what it might be? I know i need a mew valve cover gasket because i had oil residue in cylinder 6 but other than that im not sure what can cause that flashing check engine and vibrating at stops after using spprt mode happens after reaching 3000rpm on sport mode ans steptronic

Hi mate I know this was 7 years ago but am lucky enough to finally own my dream m5 so thought a week into ownership I will give the big girl some nice new blood/oil lol so done everything as you did but used a different oil filter tool and it slipped and I think I have broken a sensor or something because when I filled the car back up and put the front end back down it has trouble starting and I have engine management light on plus a break fault plus a traction fault and drivetrain fault what could I have done thanks hope you see this
