Pretty underrated channel, love your videos! Would you do a retrospective on Symphony of the Night? Or Dark Souls 1?

I know how FF tactics advanced is a dumbed down version of FF tactics but I somehow, as a dumb child, reach the conclusion of setting up two moogle jesters with smile, which immediately made the one you used it on take their turn. I used the smile spam on the two jesters, making them gain 10-12 exp everytime they took a turn. Then, I had my other units punch the shit out of those two moogles then healing them when they were close to dying. Was fun beating those two furballs till all of my other unit were maxed out. 💀

I may be in the minority here, but this was extremely hard to listen to after the first maybe 15 minutes. I understand you're reading from a script and your style is intentionally to sound intelligent and clear, but it's just way too much. I'm a normal person trying to follow along, and your vocabulary and needlessly complicated sentences are really hard to follow. It's as if the script was run through ChatGPT, asking it to replace as many words as possible with more sophisticated ones. I'll continue trying to get through it if I can, but I recommend that you use more down-to-earth language in the future. Again, might be a minority opinion, but I'm in no way special or nitpicky so I don't think I'm alone on this.

Every time you call it “Secrets” instead of “Secret”, I grimaced. You were spot on about music, gameplay, and everything else, but you kept calling them “Secrets of Mana” and Secrets of Evermore”.

Man, despite all your insane description of the combat and probabilities and strategies...I just remember by the end of the game I turned almost everyone in my party into a monk because their attacks stats were almost broken, had someone to take care of all the healing and I was literally an army of death, good times

I have watched so many play throughs and talks on this game and one thing is constant in all of them. That of course being how Wiegraf soft locked all of them at one point when first playing the game. Myself included the dastard.

The setup for the game is nonsensical though, with Delita's sister being killed because he's of common blood. In reality if anyone of common blood who was bound to a noble family- from a wetnurse to a man at arms- was captured and held for ransom the noble family would respond with all out force because A) nobles werent heartless they fall into the classist notion of not the ones I know' school you see today in racism, B) they would never allow such an attack on their honor, C) if they do view commoners as property, being stolen from is the last thing in the world they would accept. Delita and his sister would be known as adopted family within the Belouve household, and personally have been friendly with all the members of the house. There's zero chance they would be viewed as unimportant with Delita as a man at arms or squire and his sister as a lady in waiting or chambermaid. Nobility wasnt enough to maintain the system on its own, like most oppressive systems they require a lot of collaborator help from the oppressed class. If the nobles in Ivalice really were like that, where they viewed every commoner as purely disposable and not as people, they wouldnt have gotten as far as they have.

I've always been a huge fan of the slight horror slant of this game. It's like with all of those creepy 80s fantasy movies for younger audiences - Neverending Story and the like - the creepiness helped it resonate. Or at least it did for me. As a game I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Secret of Mana, but still - there're some interesting ideas in there. Also just in general I find this game so damn fascinating on a conceptual level. A western made continuation of a niche Japanese Action RPG? From back then? I mean damn, that's so odd you gotta respect it.
