Hello. If you book the family side, can any adult that has a family side bracelet? Use the adult only section of the resort? Or does this resort categorize by bracelet color?

if you take the tollway, MUCH quicker to/from airport. this resort is built on an old farm with chickens and thank god its gone. the palace next door where we also stayed and my daughter was married, the dammm roosters kept waking us! we have been to rius all over mexico, south america, costa rico and others, well over 400 times (feb 2025 next stay there) and we will get automatically up graded to the elite area ( i have pictures of this hotel being built.) we know almost all the people working at the other riu's so we do visit them. we usually are there for grand openings this one we couldn't because of c-19. keep cool. the riu's also own the empty lot next door.

I appreciate your review,. As a human, I feel that my future trip won't fall victim to the pitfalls that you warned about. There's no interest on my part to be taken care of hands and feet, but I won't be taken advantage of, or I suppose more importantly, because going in a group, our expectations will not be met with disappointment. Thoughts about the big group issue... my sister went to Fiji two xmas's ago and stayed at a small resort there. She and her husband and daughter loved it so much that they went back again this past xmas last month. The 2nd trip, there was a large group of about 15-20 that just completely took over the place, basically 2/3s of it. She said it just down right sucked for them and the couple other people that weren't part of that large group. Everything was booked up and reserved. They ended up having a terrible time, and at over $2k/night, my sister was rather pissed and will never go back there again. Based on my sister's experience, I can see how a resort may want to discourage large groups.

I deeply respect and appreciate your measured, nuanced tone and framing in your review. As much as I deeply sympathize with you and your group's unfortunate (and frankly unacceptable) experience...............and it is beyond me how ANY resort can frown on the notion of an entourage consisting of more than four people staying...............conversely I'm usually a solo traveler and I definitely gather I'm going to have a decisively different experience than you and your group did in result of that. So I am genuinely looking forward to staying at, experiencing and reviewing the resort next month myself, but I also commend your authenticity and will keep your insights in mind going into this experience. CUIDADO, este hotel es una verdadera estafa, haces una reservacion con antelacion y cuando llegas al hotel te dicen que esa reserva que hiciste no es valida, que necesitas otra nueva, se comprometen a cancelar automaticamente, segun sus palabras, y luego te sale doble cargo en tu Targeta credito, te pasas meses reclamando y te dicen que NO te pueden dar el credito a tu cuenta porque a ellos se le olvido hacer la cancelacion de tu reserva anterior, asi de sencillo Lopesan y Booking ganan doble y tu pierdes, ESTAFADORES.

Just coming back from Lopesan. We had an excellent experience in November. I recommend this resort.

Your video is so detailed! How did you get to the resort from the airport ? Is there a shuttle that you have to book ?

If you keep walking to the right side of the beach just 5 minutes you will have a much better, nicer a specious beach for better swimming, that will be front beach of Barcelo adults, and 5 min more you will be at Barcelo bavaro Palace. Like 12-15 min to Barcelo Palace.

Been to over 40 resorts and this was by far the best looking one we’ve stayed at. Everything on this resort was phenomenal. The only thing lacking here is the entertainment. It was nonexistent. We were bored after 8 o’clock after dinner nothing to do. I would highly recommend if they had entertainment throughout the day and night and putting that Dominican flair music live band dancing at the lobby bar would be great, but it was nonexistent very boring. If you’re on your honeymoon and wanna be left alone with nothing to do entertainment wise this place is for you. It would be nice if they stop playing the same song 24 hours a day in the lobby bar that was pretty much the music that you had for entertainment. They had a live band but only lasted for about 30 to 40 minutes that’s it hope this helps. Last thing do not upgrade just book the regular Lopesan resort not the adult Lopesan resort. The only difference is that you’re not at the adult section for rooms no big deal. The rooms are all the same. Location wise no difference either.

Gym looks great but I told myself years back a vaca is to vaca so I make sure I don’t workout on vaca anymore

Did you have to use credit card on arrivals for security deposit ?

So basically they suck and they lack in all what the idea of an all-inclusive resort should be but you don't mind any of this. ROOM 1. The layout was horrible, open bathroom area ?? 2. The rain shower head didn't work 3. The Tv wasn't working 4. The thermostat wasn't working and kept the AC running all the time making it uncomfortable and cold 5. Great space and furniture. 6. Room service was slow at best and the last time we ordered never came Service 1. You need to walk to get a drink and the drinks weren't that great and served in small plastic cups, if you tip you get the nice one and skip the line 2. If you wanna do business with the entire world you need to train your staff to speak English and not only Spanish 3. The hours are to be respected and you do not close the buffet 1.5 hrs early. Maybe once or twice but not every day. 4. The pool was beautiful but poorly managed and had the most disgusting water, you could smell the chlorine in the air, on my 7-day stay never saw once to be cleaned or checked the chemicals. My baby got chlorine rash 5. The beach was good, the boats around were horrible not for the music but for the gas smell, the unique area of the beach had a greater length from the shore than the regular guest area which not sure why was that. 6. Agree with you the restaurant service was perfect, the food was not so good except for the Asian that was a surprise to me as I am not a big fan of Asian cuisine. And I got food poisoned 7. The towel policy and the position were the kiosk for picking up and dropping the towels were not comfortable, maybe not for a young boy who is lurking around and doesn't mind walking but a family with a baby isn't looking to walk that distance to grab a towel and drop a towel every day on the hot humid day of a tropical island. AMENITIES They are beautiful There are a lot that I can write down about how badly this resort sucks compared to my previous experience with other resorts but I have no patience to do that. Beautiful resort, poorly managed building and service-wise. They need to do better, and train their staff better. I will not recommend this resort to anyone especially if they have kids/babies. I bet 80% of the people that go to an inclusive resort go for the convenience, everything in there is inconvenience. However that is yoir opinion and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay

I don't trust other popular resort reviewers now. I only watch your videos for the truth. Another KZbinr who i am sure is being paid by the resorts was only glowing about this resort.

It’s a Couples resort so why would you want to sit as a group .

Hey, good video 👍🏼. Quick question - does Serenade All Suites have anything like a Preferred Club? On the TUI site, I can only see options to upgrade the room, but nothing about a club like in other resorts. You mentioned not to expect top-shelf liqueurs - any idea what they actually include in the all-inclusive package? Could you give some examples? And what stuff do you have to pay extra for? Thanks a lot!

I love the family side of Serenade. Your experience sounds really bad. But, I would say just the opposite about this hotel. I recommend people to check at least five videos rating it. I did not like the dinner experience that much, but the buffet was so good that would just go there.

Incredible review. I thought in the end you would get them a worst grade. I am checking your videos right now. We will go to Punta Cana in Oct 30th. Still didn’t decide which resort. 9 days, group of 3 people. My auntie, who is 65, my wife and I. I think all the resorts are overpriced! But maybe, split in 2 resorts experience could be a good idea… still thinking!
