Yea, I'm thinking that if Panasonic tries to put in internal ND's the camera would look more like the Canon C70. Which you would have to be okay with if internal ND's are important to you.

Personally, I love it because I can shoot 4K 10-bit log. It literally replaces any real need for a camera and gimbal based on my experiences with the OP3. Only filmmakers who pixel peep the footage will know what to look for compared to audiences watching your content for entertainment purposes. I would like to see adaptable lenses for the OP3 that give it a 50mm and higher focal length. Plus, the 32-bit float audio in the Mic 2 is fantastic. Also, when you set up the Mic 2 to record 32-bit and trigger the recording the footage and audio together, syncing in post is easy because the 32-bit audio recorded inside the Mic 2 is the same length as the video recorded in the OP3.

You're right but to be honest then sony and Canon will come out with a better camera and leapfrog the S1H ii. It's a never ending cycle.

I dont know J.... I've owned the A1, FX3, R5C, and most recently the Z9. Spec wars have to translate in use. The S5II is much more straight to the goods when used. The others come with a heavy price tag when they give you something. If we get what it should come with for the time, plus internal nd its game over.

I've always preferred the color science and the skin tones of Panasonic. And yes, being able to use shutter angle is a huge time saver. The GH7 is a good reason to switch back to Panasonic for me. I have the Sony FX30, and it's a great camera. But, the features of the GH7 is great for my narrative film work. I do think the AF is at Sony level in the GH7. I'm not able to switch to the GH7 yet, but, it is on my wishlist. Plus, for Sony to have a "cinema" line of cameras without shutter angle is kinda weird. Anyway, thanks for your commentary.

The GH7 is what the GH6 should have been. The PDAF is what all lumix users want and it's now here. The GH7 i think will fade into the background in a few months. The price being 2k for just the body will mean most lumix users won't rush to get it. Also the CFexpress cards will mean the camera will be cost more in the long run. Lumix releasing 6 cameras in 3 years is great for new gear junkies but for those who have the G9ii or the S5ii/x the GH7 will be a camera that they don't have any reason to get

The internal raw and 32 bit float could be reasons to go gh7
@orinorio13 сағат бұрын
@@ArberBaqaj having internal raw isn't a big thing for me. I have the Atomos NV witch shoots prores. Personally I think prores has been pushed by KZbinrs. It's an over hype thing that isn't really needed. The files are bigger so would need a big memory card. Never heard of a wedding Videographer shooting a full wedding in prores. Watching a movie never heard anyone said oh the movie is amaizng because it's shot in prores. It was like when KZbinrs went on about b roll. Everyone who had a camera then did b roll. Personally wouldn't need prores raw

Thanks for the review! I'm still using a GH5 and I know the GH7, even the G9ii would be a huge improvement. But I'm honest. The image quality coming out of the GH7 didn't impress me like for instance the S5ii. This is what I'm looking for the most. I don't think I would use RAW recording. Give me a great LOG profile with 14+ stops of dynamic range and I'll be happy! The S5ii can do that. I have to invest in lenses of course and actually there are some full frame lenses that are not too big. 32bit float? Nice but I never used that and I'm not going to need it any time soon. I'm a little bit disappointed a thought there will be an improvement in image quality from the G9ii. So might go with full frame. I was very exited when the GH7 was announced! Thanks for the review :)

I wouldn’t say image quality is worse just a bit less dynamic range and not as shallow DOF. All my favourite movies have deep depth of field so I don’t care.

Well duh...It's not a limitation if it's inherent and widely known. I hate when people "point" that out. In a car review, You wouldn't say the only limitation of a Porsche 911 is that it doesn't have the utility of a minivan!!!
@michaelbell752 күн бұрын
@@colinthomas2525 Go look at DXO Mark and you won't find a M43 sensor anywhere close to the top 100 sensors. Compare even an older camera like the a7r III to the GH5 II and it's a slaughter. The FF Sony has way more color depth, nearly two more stops of DR and low light is not even in the same stratosphere. It's really not even close. Pretty much any FF sensor is far superior to any M43 sensor, you cant cheat physics.

Problem is that Nikon fanboys are 100% stills shooter and even some video in Nikon they think it is the best ever. The KZbin channel Greys of Westminster asked me why I don’t buy a video camera instead of complaining that Nikon does not take video seriously. I asked which video camera do you mean? A camcorders used by ENG? Till today I did not receive any answer. Nikon and their users are clueless of video. Good that they buy RED.This mean they wants to take video seriously.

Getting what is, in simplified terms, raw for audio, without the need to carry a bunch of extra gear; like an external recorder, with its own requirements of batteries, cables, mics, and so on, is most definitely not an overrated feature.. Going from a 24-bit audio sample that can represent up to 16.7 million levels amplitude and approximately 144 dB of dynamic range, to a 32-bit floating point audio sample that can represent over 4.2 billion levels of amplitude and approximately 1680 dB of dynamic range internally is nothing less than amazing in a mirrorless camera body!
