This tutorial is now outdated, and I need a walkthrough based on the new Stripe interface as non of this applies anymore. And there's no one i can ask for help from.

I highly doubt I'm going to get a reply, but it would be great if you provided instructions on how to set Admins Choice designations on forms using the new form builder interface. This and the tutorial in GiveWP documentation show options at 1:29 that I cannot find or replicate in the current version.

Followed the video with connected Stripe account. Everything looked great, but when I did a test donation I got this error: "The following error occurred when submitting the form: Something went wrong, please try again or contact support." Any suggestions on what went wrong? Also, is there an updated video? The plugin looks different in 2024!!!

dude! I did what you said. Thanks for your help man. Technical question: do you know how many simultaneous donations can GiveWP perform at once? In other words, if I have turned off my donation logon function and its just a straight-to-stripe path, does this affect my entry process limit and CPU? Or is it all stripe/GiveWP traffic and I dont have to worry about it? Its a good question :)
@ampzamp2 ай бұрын
Thank you Michelle, what is the maximum number of simultaneous donation processes that GiveWP can manage at the same time? In other words, does that depend on my CPU stats etc, or does it depend on GiveWP's? My website does not include donor login stuff, only donations going straight to GiveWP through without the WP website remembering any names. Thank you Michelle

Hey GiveWP team, I know this an outdated video but this applies to something we are currently trying to do and I’m wondering if it’s possible. We are trying to split a multi step donation form up like this: the website visitor has the option to enter the amount on the homepage and choose one time or monthly gift. Then they would be redirected to the full form with what they selected prefilled (the video covers this part). Is this something that is possible?
@i_be_alex_c3 ай бұрын
Hi @chaseburleson! It's possible but only with the older style Option Based Form Editor (a.k.a. V2) forms. If your forms use the Visual Donation Form Builder then there's no method to do this. Being that the tutorial is so old there might be some issues you come up against - there have been a lot of great changes/updates in the last 7 years!

Hello, I am looking to set up a charitable organization using GiveWP, and I have a few questions and issues: 1. Is it possible to grant specific individuals the ability to create their own campaigns for fundraising on the site? 2. Can campaigns be displayed in a grid block format on the site page? (I tried using the [give_form_grid] shortcode as described in the GiveWP grid shortcode documentation, but it didn’t work. Can you provide a solution?) 3. Is it possible to add payment gateways other than those provided by GiveWP? 4. If people can create campaigns on the site, is there a feature to take a specific commission from the campaigns? Finally, this is a separate issue, but whenever I try to set up the GiveWP page, I receive a message saying there was an unexpected error in the editor. Do you know how to resolve this?

@GiveWP Does this new version support RTL and Translation to Hebrew/Arabic?
@GiveWP Жыл бұрын
The main GiveWP plugin available on the wordpress.org plugin directory is translated by the (largely volunteer) team at the official translation page for the WordPress project. Here's the specific page for GiveWP: translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/give You can see the Arabic and Hebrew are there, but incomplete. We as a company don't have control over those translation files, though we can make suggestions and contributions there just like anyone else. I'd encourage you to get involved there to make GiveWP translations the best they can be.

Hello, is it possible to automatically aggregate the donations made by donors on the donor wall? Instead of showing them as new separate amounts, can all donations made by a donors be added to their previous amounts? For example: If donor A made a donation of $100 yesterday and makes a donation of $100 today, is it possible to view this on the donor wall as $200 instead of two separate $100 donations by donor A ?

@GiveWP Жыл бұрын
Hello! You can add an actual phone field if you have the the Form Field Manager add-on. If you have the free version of GiveWP you can add a text field, but call it Phone Number (or whatever suits your needs). In version 3+ you can move those fields pretty much anywhere in the form.

Great Plugin BUT, Can split donations in percentages? I need a plugin that can split the donation into a different percentages, for example X% for the web developers (+ hosting, domain, etc) and another percentage for the final client or foundation. Like multiple vendors but with donations. Every new income will split into 2 or 3 different percentages and deposit into different paypal or bank accounts. GiveWP can do that?

Hi @koraankenner! That hasn't been tested for a while, but I believe it was working the last time someone reached out about it (6 months ago, perhaps). That being said, the add-on is far superior in my books and I would definitely look into it (if I were in your shoes 😊). The add-on options and interface are far superior than what's achievable in the tutorial.

Can a donor make a recurring donations with just a credit/debit card? My Give-wp plugin attached to PayPal Donations, thank you!
@GiveWP Жыл бұрын
Hello! With PayPal donations a donor can do recurring donations with a credit card. If the donor's PayPal is connected to their bank account, then using PayPal itself will be fine for creating a subscription. However, please read the FAQ in the following link regarding PayPal Donations and recurring donations: givewp.com/documentation/core/payment-gateways/paypal-donations/#faq

I can't seem to get my paypal account to be accepted. I followed the directions and have the correct account and password yet I cannot enter the information without getting an error message. Has something changed since this video was first posted?
@GiveWP Жыл бұрын
Hi Linda! First I want to make sure you're connecting to PayPal Standard as in the video (you most likely are😊). Second, are you the account owner? On some occasions some folks can manage an account, but aren't the owners. Lastly, are there any visible errors that are telling you you aren't connected? If so, what do you see? Sometimes we see "We can't complete your donation. This organization's account is inactive" If so, this error is coming from Paypal. First, make sure you are using the correct email associated with your Paypal account in Donations -> Settings -> Payment Gateways -> Paypal Standard. If you were using a sandbox email, and are now taking live donations, make sure that the email has been changed to the correct email. On that same page, also change PayPal Transaction Type to Standard Transaction and test if that makes a difference. Let me know if that works. KZbin isn't the best for this kind of stuff, so you can also go to wordpress.org/support/plugin/give/ for support or, if you've purchased a GiveWP plan or add-on, go to givewp.com/login/ Have a good day!

Hey @MattCromwell, do you have any idea on how to set the Per-Form Gateways option on front end? Using JSM post metadata plugin (thank you for unveiling that to me, it's wonderful!) I see that there is the _give_per_form_gateways meta key. But how to pass values giving the fact that that's an array like, for example: array ( 0 => array ( 'stripe' => '1', 'stripe_sepa' => '1', 'satispay' => '1', 'paypal-commerce' => '1', 'stripe_apple_pay' => '1', 'stripe_google_pay' => '1', ), ) I've tried to add X fields like _give_per_form_gateways[stripe] with value 1 and repeat this field for every gateway I'd like to activate, but it didn't work. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
@GiveWP Жыл бұрын
Hi Marco! I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to achieve, but would the Per Form Gateways add-on do you what you need? givewp.com/addons/per-form-gateways/
@MarcoPrincipia Жыл бұрын
@@GiveWP Yep. I'm already using it...and loving it! What I'm trying to achieve is this: when a user creates a form on front-end, like addressed in this video, by default every gateway is activated and presented on the form. I'd like to know if there's a way to pass a metakey, via Ninja Form or similar, to deactivate some of them (or activate just some other). I see that the metakey we need here is _give_per_form_gateways But that return an array of values like array ( 0 => array ( 'stripe' => '1', 'stripe_sepa' => '1', 'satispay' => '1', 'paypal-commerce' => '1', 'stripe_apple_pay' => '1', 'stripe_google_pay' => '1', ), ) So I can't understand how to pass those values for each payment gateway to activate or disactivate some of them via a front-end Ninja Form submission. I hope this clarifies.

To install the plugin manually, first download the ZIP file from the WordPress plugin repository at wordpress.org/plugins/give/ and then navigate to Plugins > Add New > Upload and manually upload the ZIP file. If you are running version 5.5 or later of WordPress itself, it will offer to override the existing version. You can also use FTP to upload the plugin and/or add-ons. The following documentation has instructions on how to connect to your server using FTP: givewp.com/documentation/resources/deactivate-wordpress-plugins-white-screen/ Your host might be able to help with that as well. Have a good day!
