I am older (old enough to be your mom) lol and I left in 2015 (so there is hope that one day your parents might wake up) but as for now, ALL MY FAMILY shuns me as well. To be honest I had a woman tell me 20 years ago after I told her I was one of JW that Jehovah’s witnesses are some of the most miserable people and I would have to agree. The constant pressure of everything. The reason you probably struggled with masturbating was because it was an escape and offered relief. Congratulations! You are still young. Much of this distress is from the doctrine that Christ's sacrifice only covers Adamic sin and not personal sin. That only works will cover personal sin. Therefore, hoping you are doing enough, but not knowing for certain that you are. This by definition is not Christianity. It's an Arius doctrine. Read a bible transcribed by many reputable scholars, ask God for help in understanding. Don't let the experience turn you away from religion or God.

I can not believe this is still going on I was pre 1975 and had struggles due to my orientation. I came from the door to door ministry and became a pioneer. I finally realized I was lonely and it was hard, however I left it all. I have had a great life and found someone and we have been together 53 years. I feel so bad for all the ones who grew up in it and that seems like the ones who are waking up. We did not have the internet so we could not do research and know about 1799,1873,1914,1925, however 1975 was the worst. Every inside cover of the Awake said God`s promise of a New Order before the generation of 1914 passed away. Brothers believed every word of it. You are still young , you have your whole life ahead of you. So happy you woke up because it is not easy.

It’s so good that you’re working on your trauma. I married my husband about 8 years ago he’s been DFed for 23 years. He’s struggles with many things and he’s still so heavily indoctrinated from it and the trauma is very sad. He won’t admit it and thinks that’s not the reason he has issues. A lot of people who leave this toxic cult end up having addiction issues, un-alive themselves and many other sad endings. Keep up the good work!
