This testimony is overwhelming because I see myself in the 80s wasting my best years on behalf of the Watchtower society. I refused so much professional and sentimental opportunity for so many years that today (I woke up in April 2019) I can say that I wasted a large part of my life for NOTHING. I am happy that today more and more JWs are waking up all over the world. I do not want children to be raised in these toxic doctrines that only diminish man until his very end. A big thank you for your testimony.

Many of us wasted years. I was lucky I never had any interest in living in an institutional environment like Bethel. After G Jackson ARC testimony it was over for me. Anyone watching it can't possibly believe Jehovah is blessing them. S "Lamb chops" Lett, Sam "the dummy" Herd, Tony "the drunk" Morris?

I was raised a witness and was all in from ages 16-21. Once I realized my dreams there weren't coming true and it didn't seem like a garrison was on the horizon I reluctantly left. I count myself lucky I got to claim some of my youth back all be it a few years overdue.

Most truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.q John 13:16 . Jesus was SENT BY GOD - and called as SERVANT OF GOD. Acts 4:27 WHO IS OVER ALL? Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. GOD and FATHER is OVER/ABOVE ALL and that "All" includes the SON so they are NOT EQUAL THE BIBLE teaches that Jesus was MADE As Lord and Christ and as Son (ACTS 2:36, Prov 8, HEB 1:5), CREATED/PRODUCED/INSTALLED (Prov 8) , COME INTO BEING/MADE (Mat 21:42 - egeneto) and GIVEN LIFE by the Father - John 5:26 and it uses TODAY (Heb 1:5), and uses future tenses and is a prophecy in Isa 9:6 (Isa 9:6, - WILL BE) . If you are called MADE AND CREATED AND GIVEN LIFE, and NEVER CALLED in the BIBLE as Creator or Maker , then you are A CREATION. ALL FROM THE BIBLE From the Lord was this (this is referring to the chief cornerstone who is Jesus) , the word WAS is egeneto (made or came into being) - Matthew 21:42 and the exact Greek word used in John 1:3 - MADE, egeneto (came into being) - JESUS WAS MADE/CAME INTO BEING FROM THE FATHER , yes, Jesus was MADE/CREATED!, See also Acts 2:36, Heb 1:5, 1 john 5 Jesus in FACT mentioned the FATHER IS GREATER than I am. JOhn 14:28. BEFORE he WAS SENT, the Father is ALSO GREATER than Jesus. Most truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.q John 13:16 . Jesus was SENT BY GOD - and called as SERVANT OF GOD. Acts 4:27 AFTER his resurrection the FATHER IS STILL GREATER than Jesus - WHO IS OVER ALL? Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. I can not believe this is still going on I was pre 1975 and had struggles due to my orientation. I came from the door to door ministry and became a pioneer. I finally realized I was lonely and it was hard, however I left it all. I have had a great life and found someone and we have been together 53 years. I feel so bad for all the ones who grew up in it and that seems like the ones who are waking up. We did not have the internet so we could not do research and know about 1799,1873,1914,1925, however 1975 was the worst. Every inside cover of the Awake said God`s promise of a New Order before the generation of 1914 passed away. Brothers believed every word of it. You are still young , you have your whole life ahead of you. So happy you woke up because it is not easy.

As a JW myself of some 35 yrs but faded, I can confirm that JW theology is not for everyone . Far from it. And despite what the JW leadership say and what even the rank and file seem to say, the JW theology is very controlling. They say that "love " is what unites them. Well after 35 yrs in this group I beg to differ. In my opinion what "unites" them is fear- the fear of being disfellowshipped and shunned even if one dissociates themselves. If one's family and "friends" are JWs, then shunning can be quite mentally overwhelming and many do not cope. In my case , i am not DFed but throughout my life, i made sure I had a life & friends separate to the JW. I had NO desire to "reach out" to climb the theocratic ladder to be a MS or elder. Furthermore I let my kids play sport and go to school camps etc both of which are expressly frowned upon in the JW world because it is seen to be "mixing unnecessarily with worldly people". My point I guess is that people should not devote all their time to this way of life because you will find it quite suffocating. There are many "good" honest hearted people with the JW ranks but just know that their friendship is conditional and if you choose to leave on your own, they will consider that as disassociation and you may be shunned as a consequence.

What a great story! You’re so right too, that it’s really a scary experience to wake up, a combination of excitement and omg, I’m going into Satan’s hands, type thing. The world becomes like a toy box when you’re excited about seeing WHATs there, then horribly frightening if you go through removal and shunning, in the blink of an eye there goes your family. You did a great job telling your story, I was really into it. Thank you. Your advice is wise: take it slowly. I really understand why there are PIMOs. WT takes everything away from you so FAST, it leaves you in shock. Take your time building your whole strategy of exit, because they do NOT remain your friends! ❤

I really relate to a lot of this. I had a similar thing leading up to the moment I allowed myself to research. I was being introspective after some time being sick and off the hamster wheel. I couldn't fathom getting back in the routine. I was so miserable and it didn't make sense since nothing was technically "wrong" at that moment. It was this internal battle between me trying to allow myself to think critically, but also doing all of the typical thought stopping stuff. I needed to just investigate and prove that this was the truth so I can snap out of this and just serve jehovah with confidence. I had to know all that was out there in order to be able to do that because nothing made sense. The rest is history lol. To know I wasn't alone for so many things not feeling right was huge for me also.

A lot of people wake up when they move to where there's a need or missionaries, we did too. The expectations and what actually transpires are two very different things and that starts the questioning. It's like what the hell is this org about and the people in it are horrendously stupid. To be honest I had a woman tell me 20 years ago after I told her I was one of JW that Jehovah’s witnesses are some of the most miserable people and I would have to agree. The constant pressure of everything. The reason you probably struggled with masturbating was because it was an escape and offered relief. Congratulations! You are still young. I feel like my moral compass was fine tuned when I left that ridiculous religion. I don’t have the same struggles anymore

What happened to "by their fruits you will recognize them" polemic often used by Watchtower to "prove" that the "mistakes" of the leaders of Christendom are among the proofs that they are false? And how can an adherent of the Watchtower organization "rely only in God instead of those people in the organization" when these two are cosubstantial in JW doctrine, that obedience to those "taking the lead" is obedience to Jehovah and vice versa?

So, in the JW paradise, where illustrations in WT magazines show babies running after lions and the mom is standing there with fruit on her head, and grinning. What happens? The lions drop their sharp teeth out? The jaw pressure of some animal slackens? Is it an evolutionary phenomena that happens? No more canine teeth and animals are vegetarians? I’ve often wondered about the stuff they say about the paradise earth.

I’ve got a biology degree and plants do everything that animals do except move around. They eat ,drink ,reproduce and they are very aware of their surroundings. They don’t like being eaten and will let others of the same species know that they’re being attacked . The other plants will ramp up production of toxins and repellents . In some cases they’ll “call“ for assistance from an animal that eats the plant predators. While animals use sound to communicate, plants use pheromones. That idea of vegan lions always made me laugh . Felids are obligate meat eaters . A veggie diet would kill them.

Much of this distress is from the doctrine that Christ's sacrifice only covers Adamic sin and not personal sin. That only works will cover personal sin. Therefore, hoping you are doing enough, but not knowing for certain that you are. This by definition is not Christianity. It's an Arius doctrine. Read a bible transcribed by many reputable scholars, ask God for help in understanding. Don't let the experience turn you away from religion or God.

Omg, i have a lot to say about this video. 1. For a long time, you felt that your natural impulses were a burden (even though in school, we’re taught that masturbation, sex, and pleasure are natural parts of being human). I went through the same, and I thought it was even worse because, as a woman, I was expected to have “pure” thoughts. 2. I’ve felt great sorrow for my gay brothers and sisters who were made to hate themselves. If it was hard for straight people like us, I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for the LGBTQ+ community. 3. People experience spiritual awakenings in the most unexpected ways-who would have thought that something like an animal bite could mark the beginning of a new path in life? Haha. 4. Validation within the ex-JW community feels like a hug to the heart amid one of the toughest existential crises we each endure. Thanks to your video, I was reminded that, even though it was hard, it felt good to meet people from all over the world who felt the same way. Someone on another continent, in a different language, also felt like a “bad Christian” for doubting their faith; someone else cried for the life that could have been, and others just kept going. Thank you for sharing your story. Wishing you a wonderful life ✨
