The problem is they tried to remake a bunch of random old hits, hoping one of them would appeal to a mass audience and become a big hit - the Sting song, the Tom Petty song, the song that uses the MIA chorus, the song that uses the Pink Floyd chorus, etc. But none of those songs really suit Snoop's style and they come off as kind of awkward. Snoop has a laidback style and sounds good over slower, laidback stuff, like slower funk and soul, it's a pretty simple formula, I don't know why they went away from it.

Every album has its era! Missionary is changing the game of 2024s and beyond, if you look at this angle you will realize that this album going down as classic we have today.
